Since I am heading out to Big Bend tomorrow through Sunday I will miss the draft and wanted to have my last wish list before the draft published to measure myself.
1 - Rey Maualuga - LB USC 2 - Max Unger - C/OG Oregon 3 - Rashad Jennings - RB Liberty 4 - Darcel McBath - FS Texas Tech 4a - Roy Miller - DT Texas 5 - Henry Melton - DE Texas 6 - Tyronne Green - OG Auburn 7 - Quan Cosby - WR Texas Plenty of familiar faces I have been including in my wish lists, mocks and commentary. There are many different ways our draft could go, but I like the fact that we have options this year due to the development of our team.

I love it with the exception of Maualuga.
I cannot get behind that. I think he will be a bust in the pros unless he gets to play ILB in a 34 where his weakness in pass coverage is hidden. In a 43 he is toast. |

Yeah, Maualuga is one of those guys that gives us something others do not, attitude and how to apply it. Out of all the guys on defense in the draft I think he makes us a better defensive team immediately. We need contagion.

But it's hard to be the catalyst when all your teammates are looking at you every time we give up a third down completion. The only way I'm okay with draft Rey is if he comes off the field in passing situations. But why draft that at #15 when we can get it in the fourth round? |

I don't like Maualuga in the 1st either but there are ways to make him workout for us. I don't like the fact that you don't offer any help for our pitiful secondary other than a 4th round backup FS. The Texans secondary was the weakest part of the team last year and needs to be addressed more. I also don't think Tyronne Green will fall to the 6th round.

I have heard this, but just have not seen it as much on the tape that I have seen. Sure projections at the next level are appropriate, but I think he embodies the definition of a football player on Sunday and am certain he will figure it out whatever deficiency that he is projected to have.

Like everyone else, the only pick I am skeptical on is the Maualuga one.
If it goes that way, are you just expecting to move DeMeco to OLB? |

I often get caught up in intangibles that can be the connective tissue of a team, and admittedly I am guilty of that when I watch Maualuga as I would like to see him in a Texans uniform.

The first day, I think we're screwed if we're unable to trade back. Unless somebody falls there will not be anything there worthy of the 15th. I'd like to see a trade back in the first and grab Butler or maybe even Lauranitis. I wouldn't be upset with your second pick, but I'd like to stay on the defensive side of the ball. Maybe the speedy DE or an OLB if it wasn't our 1st round choice. My .02

I would not have a problem if we wound up going either direction.

For argument's sake, here is my wish list KT. Feel free to endorse it or tear it apart.
1 - Malcolm Jenkins - CB, Ohio St 2 - William Moore - SS, Missouri 3 - Rashad Jennings - HB, Liberty 4 - Trevor Canfield - OG, Cincinnati 4 - Brandon Williams - DE, Texas Tech 5 - John Phillips - TE, Virginia 6 - DeAndre Levy - OLB, Wisconsin 7 - Greg Isdaner - OG, West Virginia If those guys aren't available at our selections here are my backup choices: 1 - Darius Butler - CB, Connecticut 2 - Max Unger - C, Oregon 3 - Andre Brown - HB, North Carolina St 4 - Matt Shaughnessy - DE, Wisconsin 4 - Sebastian Vollmer - OT, Houston 5 - Bear Pascoe - TE, Fresno St 6 - Brandon Underwood - FS, Cincinnati 7 - Darryl Richard - DT, Georgia Tech |

If we do not pick an SLB in the 1st, I think we might be gunning for one in rounds 2 and 3. Who would it be? Maybe Cody Brown in the 2nd? Or Tyrone McKenzie in the 3rd?

In the third, we could choose between Brown, Marcus Freeman, and Zach Follett. Any of those guys would be fine I think. |

Roy Miller was better at UT than Frank Okam at UT. Nothing against Frank but Roy just out performed him.

Wrap that list up and mail it to Kubiak. You have done the work for him. I love the idea of getting Unger in the 2nd, Jennings in the 3rd, Cosby in the 7th.

I would even say that Miller was better as a junior than Okam was as a senior. |
