Well, I guess it's time I took a stab at the Texan's draft. I've put together 3 mocks based upon 3 scenarios playing out in the draft. Hopefully, they don't look too stupid. Let me know what ya' think.
Mock Draft #1 - No trade downs. 1) Chris Wells (RB) - Surprised? We were the #3 offense, but #17 in points scored. Wells is the best RB available & gives us the power back we need. 2) Chris Baker (DT) - Baker is 6'2" 326lbs. & runs a 5.02 40 with a 35.5" vertical. I can't wait to see this guy line up next to Mario. 3) Phillip Hunt (DE) - This might be too early to take him, but he reminds me a lot of Dwight Freeney. A little guy with a non stop motor & a lot of heart. 4a) David Bruton (FS) - He's physical with a non stop motor. He's a great tackler, supports the run well & has very good instincts. 4b) Zack Follett (OLB) - A big hitter with a non stop motor & is a great tackler with good instincts. I would've considered Jason Williams here, but he's climbing up the board fast & should be gone by this pick. 5) Anthony Parker (C/G) - He's undersized, but is ideal for the ZBS. He can play both guard positions as well as center. 6) Johnny Knox (WR) - He's 6'0" with 4.34 speed & catches the ball with his hands & not his body. An incredible athlete. 7) Glover Quin (CB) - A big hitter & reliable tackler with great hands & supports the run well. Mock Draft #2 - Trade down w/Philly for our 1st/2nd (#15 & #46) in exchange for their two 1st's (#21 & #28). 1a) Peria Jerry (DT) - He's not a big space eater, but he plays like one. 1b) Conner Barwin (DE/OLB/TE) - I'm so intrigued by this guy. He gives us a player that can be very effective at 3 different positions. He's got a non stop motor & could play OLB for us & DE on obvious passing downs without ever coming out of the game. 3) Rashad Jennings (RB) - Rashad gives us the power back we so desperately need to score in the Red Zone. Mock Draft #3 - Trade down w/Philly for our 1st/2nd (#15 & #46) in exchange for their two 1st's (#21 & #28) & then w/New England (#21 for #34 & #58). 1) Max Unger (C/G) - Unger instantly upgrades our guard position. 2a) Ron Brace (DT) - Brace gives us the big space eater we need to contain the run & collapse the pocket. 2b) Lawrence Sidbury (DE) - Sidbury would be our pass rush specialist at first. He would allow us to shift Smith to tackle & bring him in at DE on obvious passing downs. 3) Rashad Jennings (RB) - Rashad gives us the power back we so desperately need to score in the Red Zone. 5) Daniel Holtzclaw (ILB) - Holtzclaw is an underrated ILB & would be a steal in the 5th. 6) Johnny Knox (WR) - He's 6'0" with 4.34 speed & catches the ball with his hands & not his body. An incredible athlete. 7) Glover Quin (CB) - A big hitter & reliable tackler with great hands & supports the run well.
