I would try to trade J. Jones & a 5th for M. Bush.
If I couldn't do that I would try to trade J.Jones for a 5th. I'm basing my mock on getting a 5th for J.Jones I let D.Anderson go to Denver for a 7th rd. pick RD1 Barwin DE-LB Cinn 4.56 speed alows him to be an edge rusher or cover a TE. ALT. Great ST cover guy. ALT. Pick G.Johnson RB Colo. St. RD6 Boone OT-G Ohio St. A steal this late, Alchy issues. Have him join AA. ALT Pick Toal LB BC RD7 D. Colquitt P Tenn From a family of great punters, Alchy issues, gives Boone somebody to drink with or go to AA meetings ALT Pick Huber P Cinn. Clarification question: Was this done before the Smith signing?
We sign a FA DE then draft one in each of the first two rounds? Seems a bit too positionally focused for a team with quite a few needs.

Both of these guys have the ability to play LB in addition to DE. Smith is going to be a 2 down DE & slide inside to DT on 3rd & long passing situations. Therefore we need to draft a pass rushing DE (Sidbury). Barwin I view as more of a SAM LB. Scouts are looking @ him that way after the way he performed the drills @ the combine. Barwin has alot of room for improvement. Last year was his first year on the defensive side of the ball. Both of these guys fit the pressure defense style F. Bush says he wants to play. Barwin (4.56) & Sidbury (4.64) both had better 40 times than Matthews (4.66) They also are bigger weight wise than Mattews. I would not be disappointed if we took Matthews. We probably could trade down to the 20-25 spot & get either Barwin or Matthews & get even more picks. We are in a great spot IMO. |

True that PapaL, though as of now Slaton is our guy..I'm all about getting more backs, but the way that McClain and I believe I heard Kubiak in an enterview say, Steve is our guy(though Kubiak never said a splitting carry scenario), I just don't see giving up JJ and a 5th for Bush..to back up Steve. I like Bush, though too much of an asking in that scenario. We'll be getting one maybe two backs in the draft..

I like Bush, but I just think that drafting a back (The FB from LSU is my current target), and picking up a veteran in FA would be good. Maybe grabbing an UDFA if there is one left.
