Can you say Reggie Bush????

As far as Anderson and his punt return fumble. It's a different animal to PR vs KR..........that's why most teams have a "specialist" for both. Many feel that it is actually easier to field kicks (vs. punts) since you don't usually have the D close enough at time of reception to smell their bad breath.

I voted Anderson. I see Jacoby staying at PR but Anderson taking over KR duties. But we could see a combination of the two. Anderson fields it one time, Jacoby another...

Here's just a tidbit on their career KR stats:
Jacoby Jones: 4 returns 78 yards (19.5 yd avg.) Long return: 23 yds 20+ yd Ret: 1
David Anderson: 3 returns 90 yards (30 yd avg.) Long return: 38 yds 20+ yd Ret: 3

When I play as the Texans on Madden it's always Slaton returning kicks.

But no way do I want to see our main back taking kicks. I know Anderson muffed at least one return last year that cost us (I think it was vs the Jags in Jacksonville), and I thought he might be hurt?

Still went with Anderson, although in actuality, I wouldn't be surprised to see Molden back there either.

Slaton I believe would be the BEST out of the bunch but like everyone said it would be dumb to do it considering he is our best back. Put JJ back there.

Ha. I just saw this same poll on the main page over at HT.com. But with only DA, JJ, or SS as the choices. Copycats...

I agree about Slaton. We can't be like the Saints and let our Lightning get injured on special teams.

P.S. - Are you still booing Schaub after last week?
Oh, I forgot about how Andre Davis being out means that Anderson prolly takes his spot...

Am I still booing Schaub? When Schaub strings together 5 or 6 performances like he did last week, then I'll pour myself a glass of Kool Aid again.

We are playing pretty average (maybe even "bad") teams right now. When Schaub isn't getting pressured, or having to scramble in the pocket a lot, he can make progressions. I don't like how he handles the blitz, and I think he looks great against bad secondaries.

The "Boo Radley" avatar is a joke of mine: Schaub just reminds me of the character from that movie. I balance it out with my Rosencopter sig...to stabilize The Force around here.

I voted DA, but in hind sight, maybe it should be JJ getting the kick offs and DA getting the punts. Like everyone has pointed out, you get a better read off a kick then a punt and more protection. I think JJ could thrive in that environment. DA has a good head on his shoulders and would probably make better decisions in the punt return roll, but he ain't going to hit a homer for you either.

I hope they put Jones in there instead of Anderson. Anderson might have the more steady hands But I think Jacoby has a better chance of hitting a homerun. Our offense is doing fine and our special teams are pretty solid but with the defense we have we have to keep putting almost 30 a game on the board to win. Until our defense shows it can consistently keep opponents, hell under 20 points a game, we need to be able score from as many angles as possible.

Good points. Jacoby can't run backwards on a kick return.

I voted Jacoby for obvious reasons I think he wants to show what he can do with more responsibility.

Kubiak voted for JJ, too.

Quote:
After three practices and much deliberation, Kubiak decided that wide receiver Jacoby Jones will start at kick returner in place of Andre Davis this week. Wide receiver David Anderson also will be available to return kicks.

Both Jones, the starting punt returner, and Anderson figure to play prominent roles in the passing game as well as on special teams against the Bengals.

“They’re all going to play,” Kubiak said. “They’re going to rotate, but David’s our zebra (receiver) and Jacoby can play all three spots. But they’ll all be out there.”

David Anderson took a pretty good shot on the KO team in the Miami game. My guess is you better carry two bottles of Mallox. I expect to see Jacoby Jones showing where he is this game and split snaps with Dav Anderson.

beat me too it mailman good job.

There it is from the horse's mouth. The only way that changes is if J.J. fumbles one early or he gets hurt. They gotta find out about J.J. The board is loaded with WR's this draft.
