I assume it would be and you would have to credit the closest defender ?

Exactly. Even though it was a "passive" sack because of the the self-inflicted safety, J. Allen, as the closest defender, was credited with the sack.

Yes. Jared Allen was the nearest Viking and got credited with the sack. Allen was actually unblocked on the play and was going to sack him if he didn't get rid of the ball quick.

easiest sack in the history of football.
even easier than Strahan's "sack" of Brett Favre that time.

My guess is.. *knocks on wood*.. that Mario will rack up 2 or 3 sacks against Detroit..

I don't think Mario was "right" today. He seemed mentally out of it, or it might be that he was a little down physically. It was strange though.

Mario didn't play bad, he got pressure at some points and made some good plays in the run. Just didn't finish with a sack. On the plus side 2 guys not named Mario got sacks so that's a positive.

Just like Mario's two sacks last week vs. Miami, which were a result of Bulman's pressure, Bulman got a sack as a result of Mario's pressure. This is how pressuring the quarterback starts. When you opponent has to pick their poison when blocking us.

Not sure which game YOU were at...

We had 40-45K+ there - we were OVER half capacity. The crowd wasn't even CLOSE to dead in the first half, though they were slugs in the 3rd quarter for certain...even in the Bull Pen.

Props to :awtysst, CTWade, New_Texans - Dead on w/ ZERO in their predictions.
