I know this is asking probaly too much from Mr. McNair. But I was thinking about it.
I was watching videos for First Class sections for Airline like Emirates ect...you can see them on youtube Seen how they have seats that convert to Beds and you can completely lay down and sleep. You want to give your team as much comfort as possible if they are traveling. Especially a week like this week. I know Sun to Thurs is short transition. Players are still recovering. If I were Mr. McNair...I would have thought about even renting one of those planes for this game. I am sure he could if he wanted to. Yeah....its one game...but if it can give players more rest than having to sit up...I would. I know it is not that long of flight....only a couple of hours....but I would want my players completely off their feet....sleeping or completely relaxed. Maybe I am the only one thinking about this. When I saw those videos on youtube...it got me thinking. Just a thought...... |

We ALL know Bob McNair is too cheap of an owner to do this! I know, I read it here, and that has to be the truth!

Do they currently fly on a regular commercial plane?

Most teams fly charter. Many of those planes have been been modified for more room by removing seats.

It's a 3 hour flight, not like they're flying to Austrailia. And they're not flying up there on Southwest Airlines, it's a very nice charter plane.

Teams normally use commercial airlines that have aircraft on stand by for them. They have the exact same seats that we normally use for commercial flights.
Here is a good tracking thread on airliners.net for nfl team charters. http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...=nfl#ID5616769 |

The Texans were on a United airlines 757-300 which has a seating configuration of (24/192) 24 domestic first class seats (non-lie flat) 192 economy seating.

So maybe a bit of a message being sent to Tate? Or didn't get him a room and seat because of uncertainty he'd be healthy enough to make the trip?
Hmmmm....

Houston to New York: 3 hours.
Houston to Los Angeles: 3 hours. Houston to Chicago: 3 hours. Houston to Miami: 3 hours. Houston to Detroit: 3 hours. Houston to Atlanta: 3 hours. Houston to Charlotte: 3 hours. Houston to Denver: 3 hours. Houston to Seattle: 5 hours. Houston to Boston: 5 hours. One of the advantages of where we live is that we can hop on a plane and be somewhere within a few hours. A 737 is fine for the team. As mentioned, it's not like they're crossing the pond on a regular basis. |
