Just to get my work in progress, mock draft up.
1st Brian Orakpo DE - also on my radar here are Mays S and Maualuga LB 2nd Clay Matthews LB - maybe a reach here, but I want another gamer on the defensive side of the ball - also on my radar are Chase Coffman TE and Patrick Chung S. 3rd - Myron Rolle SS - I am interested to see where he goes, based on how he orchestrates his Rhodes Scholar and pending declaration for the draft. We would have to wait for his services, but it would be worth it. Also on my radar are Charles Scott RB and Domonique Johnson CB 4th - Alex Boone OL - Big, not bad feet, potential swing tackle. Also on my radar are on Ron Brace DT and AQ Shipley C. 5th - Rashad Jennings RB - I have a feeling he performs very well in the Senior Bowl/Combine and moves up considerably. Also considering Henry Melton DE and Ramses Barden WR 6th - Henry Melton DE - I have a feeling that he will be a terrific pass rushing specialist with the right Dline coach. 7th - Sammie Lee Hill DT - Space eating project from small school. Quan Cosby will be on my radar here as well.

I would love Orakpo but I doubt he will be there at 15. He is going to put up monster combine numbers.
Glad someone else is high on Clay Mathews |

So it's not a mock draft but a wish list ?

At this point everything is a mock/wish list given that the season is not over, declarations have not been made and staffs on the pro side have not been finalized. Until then, this is, as stated, a work in progress.

He never said anything about taking him at 15th. for all we know, we traded Sage, Moats, and Myers to move up to 4

2-3 of your 7 are from UT. Kinda leaning heavily on what you saw this season aren't you?

Rolle would be a great pick but we will have to see if he even wants to play football. Rashad Jennings would be a great start to our own version of earth wind and fire but you might have to take him with your 3rd round pick like you are thinking might happen. Melton would be fun to see as a Texan. We could also throw him in as a power FullBack/pass catcher on the goal line. ![]() Good Stuff.

Not really aimed at you but at all the folks sticking a QB into the draft. What is the reasoning here? Oh, he is a development project. And then next year when he is developing but hasn't hit the field and has faded into obscurity I guess we draft another development project? Geez, folks will give development project 1st day picks 2-3 years to shine and you can't wait for a couple years on a late round, never hits the field guy to simmer on the stove developing instead of picking a guy that might contribute. Never get it. I'd rather trade a 7th for Kevin Walter, pick a Zach Diles, take a flyer on a big legged punter, etc. QB especially makes no sense for a team that will not protect a 3rd QB on the regular roster so he will be exposed on the practice squad.

WR - Quan Cosby. I would go as far as to say he has the best hands in college football. His age (26 or 27?) will cause him to slide and may even cause him to go undrafted. I have a feeling someone grabs him in the 6th. OG - Cedric Dockery. He's nothing special, but he has always been a solid player for us. I would project him as a 5th round pick. DE - Brian Orakpo. Everyone knows this name. Concensus top 10 pick. Has all the tools plus the work ethic to succeed in the NFL. DE - Henry Melton. After proving to be a very disappointing RB he moved to DE. Athletically, it's all there. Overall, he does not play the position that well, but a good coach would change that. He has only played two years at DE. He is a fine pass rusher and a stout tackler. But he is easily confused and has a hard time filling his gap or keeping contain against the run. 4th or 5th round. DT - Roy Miller. Big Roy made himself a lot of money in the Fiesta Bowl. He was disruptive all night. He looks like a 3-4 man but he has the athletic ability to be a pocket collapser(sp?) in the 4-3 as well. 3rd round. I could see teams taking a chance in UDFA on Ogbonnaya (as a FB) and Bobino. |

I hope your thoughts are picked up by others as well. That is exactly the type of standard that I am hoping is applied and allows Orakpo to drop to 15.

I hope they dont. He doesnt impress me in the least bit, and until one of the UT high draft picks pull their heads out of their hindparts, Ill pass. Just too inconsistant to depend on. The later round guys look solid.

What was the name of the Ohio St. RDE--the one that drew two flags (one of them BS)? He was hammering UT's LT all night long.
