I think the best thing for us to do is to trade down our first and a third to a team like the eagles, who have a low first and high second. that way we could get someone like Shaw Cody from USC and then some one like David Bass or Elton Brown in the second.

Wouldn't trade the 3rd away. The value chart--certainly not the gospel but a useful tool--puts our 1st at very close to equal to the Eagles 1st and top 2nd. In the past few years, the trading up team has usually paid a little more than the chart indicates rather than the other way around.

Lets be nice and say they have the 29th pick in the first round, and their 33rd pick in the 2nd round. Thats around a 1220 value. 640 from the 29th pick, and 580 from the 2nd round pick. The #13 pick alone is worth around 1150. So thats a big no on dropping a 3rd rounder as well. But all in all we could get a couple of great players.

29th Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn
33rd Vernand Morency, RB, Oklahoma St.
45th Darnell Bing, S, USC

I wouldnt do it this year because of the very thin draft that is coming. Just get the best available.

We should only trade down if there isn't a top talent LB/o-line/d-line available. Other wise we need to take the best LB/o-line/d-line player we can get at pick 13.
