August 11 will start year #5 for my EZ UP Dome II. It's withstood everything so far....as long as I secure it with 40 lb. sandbags on each leg. I leave it up when I go to the game and it's always right where I left it when I get back.

How do you get around the yellow coats, Speedy? They always tell us that we have to take ours down when we go to the game.
![]() Your suggestion about weighing the legs down is key to keeping your canopy in working shape. We're on our third one now since 2002, and the first two were destroyed by strong winds. |

I always take mine down reguardless. I almost lost it on a brand new Ford diesel parked next to my car in a burst of wind. After that, I usually get something to weigh it down when I'm next to it in the parking lot, but still will always take it down before going in.

I believe my two are Express. I like them because the legs are straight up and down. They are 10' x 10' which really gives you room. I also didn't like the ones with "flexible tent poles" that round off on the top.
Yankee getting a canopy?? Kewl!

What about the Hercules, then you can have the whole crew underneath that one.

The guys at our tailgate secure our canopies with ice chest and bungie cord. Seems to work just fine and eliminates the need to haul sandbags around. Just a suggestion. My little old EZ up is going on it's sixth year. Not quiet as fancy as TEDS 10x10, but, it comes in handy when needed. The guys just lower the canopies when we go to the game. As far as I know, the yellow shirts have never said a word about leaving them up.

In a pinch.... A bungee cord and a gallon of water work great to hold the tents down.

The first year I used it, there were a couple of days where there just wasn't any wind, and I didn't secure it. When I came back, it was fine, but they slapped a warning sticker on my car. If I have it well secured, which I always do now, they don't have a problem. Plus we usually have somebody hanging around out there as well. Quote:

Now that someone bought a grill, I'll have to pony up for a canopy. Anyone know a CHEAP place to buy sides? I might buy one or two for sun blocking purposes...

Yankee, this is what alot of us use...instead of overpaying for the sides that go with the canopies, just go to any Wally World, Target, ie...and purchase a few of the blue tarps. They are perfect...instead of having them directly on the frame like the canopy walls are, we attach them to the top and then angle them outward, giving more space and shade, we do it on 2 sides. If by chance rain is in the mix, then we pull them in and they make perfect walls as well.. Plus you can use them for other things as well instead of just sides.

Hey y'all, I'm a noob to the tailgating and am looking to get a canopy. I've only got one parking pass in the blue lot for the season and was wondering if those 10x10's fit behind your vehicle in one spot, or do y'all need two?

Tarp and zip ties = Perfect Canopy Walls (and cost effective)

Lost for now...

We've been using a couple of those EZ-Up Express Canopies (the white one's with the elevated center), and those have done fairly well... a little patch work here and there through the years, but they are still going strong. I think I prefer these over some of the cheaper one's (like that Texans one). The material is a lit thicker and stronger on the Express canopies than the Texans one... and the legs are a lot sturdier than the Texans one.
Now I am interested in those curved ones... need to go check those out.

I was in Sports Authority yesterday and walked past the aisle where they have thier outdoor gear and stuff. Well I do not know how long this sale will be ongoing, but they are having a 30% off the Coleman and the other style canopies..I saw a few sizes, 10x10, 12x12 and a larger size, I did not get the size of that.
So if there are any of ya that are thinking of a canopy, now would be a good time to save some money on them. They even have a few of the sides, both the solid kinds and the screen sides...Not sure if they are discounted, but it doesn't hurt to ask.. |

Seems like only the "cheaper" ones are on sale, is it different in the store? And I have NO idea why their Express II is over $200.... |
