I need to send a request to Penn & Teller so we can get a good idea of what's BS on these reports. That would be a fun show to watch. This is better than watching a WSP event with all the poker faces and misdirection.

I would like to add that sources say Ed Reed is closer today than he was yesterday or the day before. However, he will not play in a game but do expect him to get closer. I will closely watch and listen and report how much closer he gets.

Oh there's a mathematical term for that; I remember it from Algebra...

Asymptotic:
The state of Ed Reed's readiness to play; as time advances it approaches but never reaches 100%

Thursday Injury Report........pertinent compared to Wednesday (I'm starting to wonder who is making these final reports out):

Although Ed Reed was said to participate in Full practice today, he is listed as Limited.

Add low back to AJ's concussion in Limited participation.

Add the shoulder again to Tate.

Interesting that JJo is on the Full practice list........but listed as rest/non-injury?

Add thumb to Foster's calf/chest.

Graham hip/groin did not practice.

AJ (on if what he had counts as a concussion) “Well, when I saw the doctor yesterday, he told me he really wouldn’t label it as a concussion because I never lost consciousness or anything like that.”

AJ should stop seeing his dermatologist for advice............maybe try making a second-opinion appointment with a urologist.........

Concussions can occur with or without LOC (loss of consciousness). In fact, the vast majority of concussions do not result in LOC..........more than 95% in a 2010 study of concussion among high school athletes, a rate less than half the 10-11% (with LOC) reported in virtually all previous studies.

After today's practice, the only notable change is:

Newton.............add elbow to knee and calf.

The periosteum cover carries within it an extensive network of very sensitive sensory nerves.

Their effects are only limited by the amount of pain the player is handed and how much he can endure . Depending on severity, it will usually take anywhere from 1-3 weeks until pre-injury performance level is re-instated. Even moderately painful and tender hip (pelvic rim) pointers can temporarily be injected with Xylocaine and heavily padded to allow a player to play with a semblance of reasonable performance. If it is very severe, it will probably take 2-3 weeks to be able to return at all.

At this time, I would not totally rule out Rice playing after being well-injected and "dressed" like a Thanksgiving turkey.

Yummy for Ray Rice then. That looks like creole butter, garlic & herb. My favorite!

Default Website injury report

As far as you can tell, the Texans website has quit listing players as Out or Doubtful. Those classifications seem to be lumped in with Questionable, so that if a player is called questionable it's nearly a cinch he won't play.

They haven't done away with Out or Doubtful. They are just "manipulating" it.
Ed Reed (with all the shenanigans) and certainly Graham could be seen as Questionable. And with Brown, I truly believe that they actually unrealistically thought they could still shoot him up and wrap him and throw him out there at least for awhile..........making him Questionable. They finally gave up the ghost on their misdirected plan for Brown AFTER the Friday report came out.

BTW, there is already a Injury Report thread for this week.

McClain reported that Wade Smith was dealing with his knee problem all week. After suffering a "minor" knee injury the beginning of August and eventually underwent a "minor" knee scope. He is now almost 6 weeks out of his arthroscopic surgery.........it has shown in his play since he has returned.
