With the 14th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft the Carolina Panthers select Heath Miller
In the "Age of the Tight End" Heath Miller is the next in a line of young TE's. The 'new' pass rules have made it more difficult to cover the big guys coming off the line and Miller should have no problem in that area. May still have some work to do to improve his blocking against NFL players. This selection will add a new dimension to the Panthers offense.
The Panthers were not excited to see two guys they liked taken at 12 and 13. I tried to talk myself into Elton Brown this high to continue the rebuilding of the o-line or that the RB durability questions were enough to pick up one of the top RB's still out there, but in the end the deciding factor was that Miller will definitely be able to come in and make an impact on offense as a rookie.
