My wife took a seam ripper to her old one, went to a fabric shop and bought some kind of iron on material, used the letter template from the Chronicle to cut out the new letters, ironed and stitched on the new letters in about 30 minutes and it looks as good as a new one. Cost was about 2 bucks for the iron on material.
I don't have the patience for that. I would rather send it off, and for 30 bucks, have it done by a professional.
