I'm OK with not taking a QB at #1-1, especially if there is a trade-down, but going all the way down to McCarron/3rd round I'm NOT. I am OK with Robinson @ 1-1. It's a good idea, in fact. I also like the safety pick in the 2nd, but I want a QB by the time we have selected with that 2-1 pick; so, while I'm fine with Robinson and the safety, I'm not fine with both of them, unless there is a QB added in there somewhere.
That's my beef. Now those of you who actually know what you're talking about can continue, with my express permission.
In a perfect world, Luck would be there #1 but he is not. Without ability to project a trade up in the 1st (if one of the top 3 QB's drops) we choose not to reach or make unreasonable projection (one of the top three dropping to #33). I'm so amazed @ big time media personality projecting them to fall, we toyed with idea but thought it to be not in keeping with this knowledgable fan base who visits these parts & considered as friends, no intention of insulting anyones intelligence.
McCarron is sort of a compromise pick, meaning he is not your ideal franchise QB (hence late 2nd early 3rd rd. grade) but he does possess the size, leadership & experience Bill O'Brian might endear himself to. Let him watch & learn while Fitz runs Texans offense & let the team as a whole gel in new system. When he is ready then give him reps, not before.
Robinson & Bucannon we felt are both elite talents for their positions & instant starters for Texans improving both defense & offense.
