If you're happy with Hopkins (no reason not to be) then you don't do that.
If you think Hopkins will be as good or better than Watkins you don't do that.
If you covet Clowney or one of the top QB's you don't do that.
If you can't find someone to give you a 1st for Hopkins then you can't do that.
BUT.... If you believe that Watkins will be better than Hopkins, don't see another player at the top of the draft that you think is better than Watkins, and could find someone who would do it (give you a 1st for Hopkins) then it's not crazy at all. Besides, it was just an idea to kick around.
I liked the other scenario suggested in that thread better, the one where you get the Browns to trade up with you and snatch both of their 1st round picks, take Watkins, get your defender, and then Garoppolo or some other QB you like as a project in the second round.
I honestly wouldn't mind Houston selecting Watkins at 1.1, keeping Hopkins and going with a QB at 2.1. A WR group of Johnson, Watkins & Hopkins would be insanely good.
