Mitchell is a 3-4 NT that should be playing DE. IMHO
Texans always have more pressing needs that's why. The drop off from a prospect who is considered a 1st rd. grade with a 3rd or 5th not all that significant compared to other skill positions in Wade Phillips system. For example the edge usually goes to OG's & OT. Center is a position that gets overlooked not surprisingly the position which goes head to head with the nose guard.

Star Lotulelei for example was selected 14th overall (one spot lower than JJ Watt). Solid player who has started every game but 20 tackles & one sack is not exactly comparable to other first round picks or even second round picks @ other positions. I know we discussed Kawaan Short in length last year with the 27th pick for Texans. He lasted until 44th also taken by Carolina. Rotational tackle, which is about right, 1 tackles & 1.5 sack. Compare those stats to Chris Jones, drafted by Texans late 6th 198th overall, cut by Texans then Tampa & picked up by Pats, 18 tackles 3.5 sacks.
