Default Re: Texans vs. 49ers Injury Status

Starting right guard Brandon Brooks missed practice Wednesday with a toe injury. Brooks was injured during Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. He, along with linebacker Tim Dobbins, was not on the field at the Houston Methodist Training Center.

When asked about Brooks' availability for the Sunday night matchup with the 49ers, head coach Gary Kubiak was uncertain.

“I don’t know," Kubiak said. "He didn’t practice today. He’s battling a toe. We’ll see where he’s at each day.”
Expect Ben Jones to be his sub. Wonder who will help at LG.

Duane Brown was on the practice field Wednesday with the Texans, but is still "day-to-day" according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Brown suffered a toe sprain during the Week 2 win against the Titans, and was inactive because of it the past two games. The left tackle practiced last Wednesday and Thursday, but was inside undergoing treatment on Friday. This afternoon, however, Brown worked with the team inside the Houston Methodist Training Center.

"Duane participated today," Kubiak said. "We were pretty light in what we did, so that I could get everybody involved."

Ryan Harris started in place of Brown at Baltimore and at home against Seattle. If Brown continues to work through the week, though, Harris might return to his backup role for Sunday night's contest at San Francisco.

"Duane did everything," Kubiak said. "He actually stayed out there a little bit extra. It was a big step in the right direction. But he's still day-to-day."
This means he "practiced" only in the afternoon indoors without contact. Last week a similar routine led to a setback.
