Sadly, that wasn't due to anything other than him being considered a low threat. When the passes he caught could contend well with a punter's hang-time
, he wasn't exactly a sharp route runner caught in stride.
Using him as a deep-threat on mostly fly routes is what I'd hoped the Texans were leaving him at. He failed miserably when they tried to make him a #2, much less a #1.
The Ravens saw what we saw several years ago...let him stretch the field and catch deep routes
. He wasn't good for many other patterns.
