Re: Comp picks for 2013 FA's
OK, so we know the NFL award a maximum 32 comp picks each year.
For the sake of simplicity, let's say there are 14 teams that somehow lose 2 more qualifying players than they sign. And let's say they are all at higher level of losses such that those 14 teams are awarded 28 comp picks total.
There are 4 possible comp picks left.
The Texans lose 4, sign 1
The Jets lose 4, sign 1
The Eagles lose 4, sign 1
How many comp picks do each of these 3 teams get?
There's a complex formula with different criteria which we don't know for sure which is more prevalent.
The Texans may have a bigger burden financially with the contracts originally.
But the Jets have a couple of players injured and didn't play much.
Same thing with the Eagles.
The Texans have all those players start all 16 games.
Who gets how many comp picks?
I know I stretch it, but in theory, there's no guarantee at first sight.
