Default Re: NFL Network Playbook AFC

So I'm watching Playbook this week. Baldinger talks about the Titans tendency to play man coverage & proceeds to show Jack Locker making excellent throws to beat man coverage. Kenny Brit beats the corner on go routes, Locker places the ball over the top, defender has no chance, Brit runs under it, catches it & keeps running.

Baldinger lays out a good argument, citing that attacking the corners is what other teams found success with against the Colts. The first play shows the Colts in 3 deep coverage, Cj beats the corner assigned to him, gets behind the safety & Stafford delivers a bullet over 50 yards through the air. Then he shows the Brit plays I spoke of earlier, a 20 yard go route that Britt takes for 46 yards down the right sideline & a 40 yard go route to the left sideline.

Baldy asks, "Can you imagine what Andre Johnson is thinking right now?"

My answer is he's probably thinking, "We don't run that play, we don't run that play, maybe that one will work, but we don't run that one either."

I watched playbook last week & again they presented a plausible plan to attack their LBs with our two TE sets. I knew Graham was out, but we still had Casey & it looked like a good plan. But we didn't do it. But the point, is that as I watched that, I was thinking, "Yeah, that "fits" with what we're trying to do. That looks like something we do."

As opposed to watching this weeks plan to attack Indy's corners. I know we aren't going to do that, because we never do that. Matt can't throw a go route to save his life. His tendency to purposely under throw balls don't jive with the go route. Throwing deep on three deep? Nah... even if Andre is fast enough to get behind them.... it ain't gonna happen.

So then I ask myself, why not?

The first section was kinda awkward, McNabb was having issues saying Jj Swatt & while he was talking about what our defense needs to do for us to return to our winning ways, they kept showing clips of how out of sync our offense was. Monday night & a play where Matt missed OD in the end zone vs Tennessee.
