That's the way I was understanding the definition, as well.

I would be a lot more optimistic about the Texans if/when they win a Super Bowl, but that's because they proved they could do it and establishes a standard for future Texans teams.

But optimism =/= full homer. I don't think I could ever ignore the warts, and blinders give me a feeling of claustrophobia.
