i thought it was tunnel vision, win the game in front of you at all costs by any means necessary, take nothing for granted, and make it a habit of playing full speed, so that you don't have to hope that you can flip the switch later on should things get desperate. is this not the case?
Well when the other team's O has-4 yards and 0 points at the half I would imagine whatever you are doing is working pretty good. You do what ever it takes but you don't necessarily do everything. Now if the game were closer then you risk more stuff and throw more wrinkles but why give #18 any more film on our D than he already has?
