With the 41st overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers select:
Aaron Maybin - OLB, Penn St
Athletically, Maybin is a top 25 talent. But he has fallen this far because of concerns that he does not have a true position. He may not be big enough to play DE in a 43 and he may not be able to cover well enough to play OLB in a 43 either.
So what do we do with him? We take his natural pass rushing skills and use him as a rush LB in a 34. He may be asked to play a little bit in coverage but his main responsibility will be to get to the QB, which he is very good at.
Hell yeah, that's a no-brainer for the Packers. I can't believe he fell this far. I thought long and hard about taking him at 26 for Baltimore, but couldn't pass on Alphonso Smith. Honestly, if the Ravens had signed someone better than Foxworth, I probably would have pulled the trigger.
No doubt the steal of the draft so far. Nice haul for the pack through 2 rounds.
