No.. You benefited from having the fact that Steve McNair had already been drafted. Eddie George had been drafted. Frank Wychek was there, and many of the pieces of a once dominating O-line were still in place. The defense wasn't really
that bad. Blaine Bishop anyone? Barron Wortham, Gary Walker, Darrell Lewis. BTW, special teams weren't all that bad either, Al Del Greco, Reggie Roby and Mel Gray. Tennessee had just drafted Derrick Mason (R) that off-season.
BTW, the expansion draft for the Texans was different than other expansion drafts in that the Texans were required to spend almost 40% (or about $28 million) of their cap space -or-required to draft 30 guys in the draft alone.
Apples to apples? Hardly.
