Bama vs ND Perfect example why we need a PLAYOFF
 

Last night's game was a perfect example why they need a college playoff system. I believe in an 8 team playoff system that ND might not have made it past the first round, yet it was billed as the Championship game.

I think this is a very weak year for MLB's...

Last year would have been the year to take one.

Bama was the best team pretty much all season from start to finish, everyone knew it...this didn't surprise me 1 bit....playoff, no playoff they would've been there at the end.

Two more years and we will have a 4-team playoff. Then, once the NCAA realizes that there's no point in playing bowls featuring 6 and 7 win teams, they will expand it to 8 teams and use more of the top tier bowls. I think eventually they are going to have to scrap the lower tier bowls and up the requirements to 8 wins for a bowl game, because nobody cares about those now, and having a playoff with meaningful games will make it even worse.

This year would have been a great playoff, ND would have been owned by Oregon, and Bama would have stomped Florida. Then Bama vs Oregon for a real championship game. I would love to see that matchup, as I think Oregon could put up some points on Bama.

It's the perfect example why we don't need a playoff. We already have an excellent playoff system - it's called the SEC regular season. They couldn't even find one team outside the SEC that could hang within 20 points of Alabama - why do we need six more?

When they go to four teams it should be both teams from the SEC Championship game, the next best team from the SEC (Alabama last year, Florida or A&M this year) and one team not from the SEC just to be nice (although a fourth SEC team would probably be better).

I can think of a few rea$on$ why team$ with $ix or $even win$ will continue to play in bowl game$. Low-tier or not, I'm $ure that $omeone will $till want them around.
