I'm listening to the Danieal Manning show.

I love listening to the player shows on the radio because you get some insight into what the players are thinking, how their feeling, and things like that. Usually, I think they're real. They may not give away the game plan or what not, but they try to be honest.

So I'm listening to Manning right now & Jerome Solomon has been doing a good job asking him questions about how they played Saturday & why they didn't play like that the week before, or the week before that.

Danieal said he believes some of the guys (himself included a little bit) started listening more to people outside the locker room than the people inside the locker room. He didn't mention any names in particular, but he says he believe there was a little bit of that going on.

He said a couple of other things that I like. I like the way he talks about Wade. One thing he said in particular, is that he tells the players he wants them to play aggressive, he wants them to make plays. If they commit penalties for being aggressive, he says that's on him. Blame him. Go out & make another play.

Saturday Danieal said after he commited that offsides penalty that extended the drive, he was getting high fives from his teammates because they appreciate his aggressiveness. Of course there are limits, but they are coached to push the envelope & make the referees throw the flag. They're not supposed to pull up, they're supposed to play on the edge & push the issue.

It's a great show so far, still on.... 97.5 it's streaming on the internet if you're not in radio range. But you should check it out.

giving high fives after an offside penalty for a first down is ridiculous. lmao. good job manning good try. come on now. they just got over it and kept playing.

Well, I took it more to the point that they were star-struck. They heard about how good the Patriots were, how crafty, how quick their pace is, the "high-powered" nature of their offense, how our secondary wasn't that great, how we gave up the big play, how Brady was going to carve them up.

Then when they saw it happen once, then twice, then a third time.... that it got to them.

He went on to talk about how each game is different and the game plans are game specific & things like that. How they can't listen to all that & trust their game plan.

He went on to say how he still believes their game plan was a good one, that it was an execution thing. However, I also got the feeling that he'd fall on a sword for Wade if asked to, so grain of salt & all that.

i'm not sure why he'd get high 5's for that one, unless his teammates were laughing. he was beside the wide receiver just before the snap, and STILL inching forward - without making his jump, manning looked like he was BEHIND the receiver. i was having a chuckle at that one again yesterday, thinking "where is he going?" and "how do you line up BEHIND the other teams receiver?".

That has to be it. The game plan for the D was not good. You can not blitz Brady that much, he will find the open receiver.

Every Pats fan knows this and hopes we come with the same gameplan.

I disagree. Like I said, after the gaga wore off, that game plan shut the Patriots down.

Maybe that's what he meant. They were defnitely "star struck" during that game. They were over-amped, and almost over-anxious. It was obvious. They were totally mentally intimidated.

Probably the same as basketball players high fiving each other even after a missed freethrow attempt.

What little hopes I had of a Texans upset is quickly squashed by this radio show. How can a DC advocates his own player of committing a penalty that extended the opponent drive! That explains all those penalties we're getting for the past 6 games. Unbelievable. And on top of that he insisted it was a good gameplan against Brady. Really? C'mon man. C'mon.

Schaub better have the best game of his life for this game to not get ugly.

They were totally unprepared for Brady's pace. The first 17 minutes of the game (1st qtr plus 2 minutes of the second) our defense's was confused & discombobulated.

For the remainder of the 2nd & the third qtr the Patriots had 6 possessions of 7 where they could barely move the ball. 5 of those were 3 & outs and the other they allowed 15 yards.

When you're up 28-0 and 35-0 your strategy changes. I doubt our gameplan had much to do with the Patriots drives stalling.

When an opposing team scored 40+ on you your gameplan failed across the board

I don't like penalties such as lining up in neutral zone or the one Posey had called against him. If you cannot make the play don't interfer with the DN unless he will interecept. An incompletion is much easier to recover from than a yardage penalty. Illegal blocks to the back, late hits out of bounds or after whistle blows are just stupid for most part. Fans can whine all they want about QB wearing skirts but if rules say don't do it then don't do it.

I don't think Wade was encouraging penalties but hustle.

I think the defense did a great job of wearing out Tom Brady... 's arm, with all those touchdowns.

Their final drive of the 3rd that rolled over to the 4th ended in a TD. So they basically had 3 scoring drives in the 2nd and 3rd Qtrs with 4 three and outs. A little under 200 yards between the 2 qtrs.
