History Lesson!
Late on this. I know, I know! I promise you kiddos a write-up!
Just got back from the bar and pulled a 6/10 blondie.I get busy too! Well here what everyone's been waiting for! Since 2000 *too lazy to dig back further* Superbowl Loser: 11-12 AFC: Denver Broncos 29, Pittsburgh Steelers 23 (OT) 10-11 AFC: New York Jets 17, Indianapolis Colts 16 09-10 NFC: Arizona Cardinals 51, Green Bay Packers 45 (OT) *Loss in 2nd Rd. *New Orleans 08-09 Patriots missed the playoffs 07-08 Chicago did not qualify 06-07 NFC: Seattle Seahawks 21, Dallas Cowboys 20 *Loss in 2nd Rd. to Dallas 05-06 Eagles did not qualify 04-05 Panthers did not qualify 03-04 Raiders did not qualify 02-03 Rams did not qualify 01-02 Giants did not qualify 00-01 AFC: BALTIMORE 24, Tennessee 10 *Loss in 2nd Rd. to Baltimore *No superbowl loser advanced to Championship game. *Only superbowl losers to win games in post-season came from the infamous "worst division in football history" Now, onto the Patriots record, specifically... After their FIRST superbowl loss in 2007.. they miss the playoffs the next season, got blown out by the Ravens in the wild card round the next year, and then loss to the Jets in the divisional round the year after. Both first games of their post-season. Both games in FOXBORO. Class dismissed kiddos! |

It's also worthy to note, the Pats owned the Ravens on a regular basis, and they beat the Jets 45-3 before losing in the playoffs to them. That 2009 game against the Ravens where they went up by 21 in the first quarter is the only thing the Ravens got to hang their hat on in that rivalry. Let's hope history favors us! |
