PFW's 2012 All-Injury team
Offense
QB Ben Roethlisberger / Steelers Lingering rib and shoulder injuries could prove to be insurmountable obstacles. RB Maurice Jones-Drew / Jaguars One of AFC’s top backs has missed last six-plus games with foot injury. RB Rashard Mendenhall / Steelers Team’s best back has been burdened nonstop by knee, Achilles injuries. WR Greg Jennings / Packers Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target missed seven games with groin injury. WR Santonio Holmes / Jets Loss of team’s best offensive player with Lisfranc injury has contributed to Jets’ demise. TE Aaron Hernandez / Patriots Just when he comes back from six-game hiatus (ankle), down goes fellow TE Gronkowski. OLT Jake Long / Dolphins Miami had been one of healthiest teams before losing perennial Pro Bowler in Week 13. OLG Carl Nicks / Buccaneers All-Pro selection with Saints last season was costly free-agent addition. C Ryan Kalil / Panthers Pro Bowler each of last three seasons is also prominent figure in locker room. ORG Davin Joseph / Buccaneers Losing Nicks was bad enough. Losing Joseph, also considered a top guard, is double trouble. ORT Todd Herremans / Eagles Eagles O-line a lost cause after losing Herremans, OLT Jason Peters and C Jason Kelce. Defense DE Glenn Dorsey / Chiefs Loss of team’s best D-lineman has wreaked havoc with K.C.’s defense. NT Phil Taylor / Browns Losing Taylor (pectoral) the first half of the season was major punch in the nose. DE Adrian Clayborn / Buccaneers And yet another former first-round draft pick bites the dust! ROLB Brian Orakpo / Redskins Losing two-time Pro Bowler (torn pectoral) along with DE Adam Carriker a double whammy. RILB Sean Lee / Cowboys PFW Midseason All-Pro selection was playing out of his head before going down for the count. LILB Brian Cushing / Texans Loss of defense’s leading tackler and emotional leader still could take its toll down stretch. LOLB Terrell Suggs / Ravens Comeback from torn Achilles much sooner than expected has eased Ravens’ pain a bit. CB Darrelle Revis / Jets Arguably the league’s most talented defender went down one week before Holmes. CB Lardarius Webb / Ravens One of AFC’s better corners was playing quite well before Week Six knee injury. SS Troy Polamalu / Steelers Established Grade-A playmaker has missed all but three games. FS Louis Delmas / Lions Cranky knee has been ongoing issue for beleaguered Lions secondary. Specialists PK Nate Kaeding / ex-Chargers P Chris Jones / Cowboys RS Marc Mariani / Titans LS Mike Windt / Chargers |
