FYI.

The Texans are checking online sales for people breaking the rules and trying to re-sell tailgate tix for a profit. If they catch you, they will take away privileges of ordering these + your parking pass.

So, just saying. Don't do that. Ruins things for others. :cow:

I only wonder why they even care. Seriously. Supply and demand, just like game tickets. They can threaten the same thing for game tix and parking passes, but that's a hard sell legally when the primary marketing entity has a piece of the action themselves in NFLTicketexchange.

I love my tailgating time, but there's no way i would pay $90+ bucks (current bid on ebay for 2 tailgate tix) to sit outside the stadium that many hours.

Scalping tickets is bad, mmkay? Unless you go through the scalping source that the NFL gets revenue from. Yes, the NFL is in the business of scalping their own tickets.

There's enough fans out there willing to meet up and pay cold hard cash for them. Nothing the Texans can do about that. I have been ask repeatedly if I have any for sale. I don't buy them, and wouldn't sell them for profit if I did, but, there are fans making some dough off those things. From what I have heard, they are a hot item for GB fans.

I knew it and thanks TC for getring the particulars. I could not imagine going from the blue crew to the hotel anf from 7 am to 830

The reason they care is that they want their season ticket holders who want them for themselves to have them. And if there's a secondary market for them, then their season ticket holders who can't get them get angry.

So they are scouring the secondary market to see who is trying to sell them, and sometimes buying them. The tailgate passes have the season ticket holder's info on them, so they can take away your privilege to buy them, and your parking pass.

Personally I think the texans are messing up this whole tailgate thing...having to get tailgate passes to me is kind of ridiculous...all they would have to do is eliminate the tickets then charge $10-20 at the walk in entrances and either issue a wristband or a ticket...then during the game when the ambassadors walk around checking for the passes or wristband if you don't have one(because you rode in with someone) you pay them and they issue your band or ticket...problem solved...it would generate so much more revenue them it already does...I myself try to go to as many games as possible but sometimes it's not financially possible...but I still wanna be there tailgating and enjoying the atmosphere of game day...but limiting the amount of tickets to me is a shame...just my opinion

What the Texans were trying to do, IMO, was stop people from buying a parking pass and then inviting everyone and their grandmother to come party in the parking lot, which led to groups who were only there to throw a drunk and wild party and had little to no interest in the game(see the last Dallas game).

They want the season ticket holders and their friends to be ones who are enjoying the tailgating since they are primarily the ones who make it what is today. That seems to be who they are trying to protect. And people have to realize there are limited resources in the parking lots, including bathrooms and security. If they let in anyone who wanted to come in, those resources could easily get overwhelmed and you get a situation where the ticket holding fans are suffering due to the people who are only there for the party. So I think they really do have to limit how many people can come in.

That said, I don't know how wise it is to come down on the season ticket holders for selling on the aftermarket. If I buy 4 tailgating passes for my friends and he find out he can't and decides to sell them on eBay, I'm the one who gets in trouble.
