Re: 2009 gbn draft redux
Texans did respectful w/Cushing @ #6.
Interesting they have Wells 4 Texans @ #15....:rake: reviewing later rounds I couldn't help but notice after Greene #65 & Coffee #74 (both reportedly would have been considered by Texans if still available) there wasn't another RB taken until 11th selection of the 4th rd. (Mike Goodson, Texas A&M). Then again not til near end of 4th rd. interesting. |
Re: 2009 gbn draft redux
I have a feeling that the Lions would pick Cushing. Lions fans are always complaing on Sirius NFL radio about how they don't have that one playmaker on defense. While Orakpo will probably have a great career, he is not the playmaker that Cushing is and will be. Cushing will create more havoc on offenses that Orakpo will. But that's just my opinion.

Re: 2009 gbn draft redux
If I were Detroit, I think I'd go after Michael Oher. They've invested heavily in the starting QB, now its time to protect him. A few years ago they drafted Gosder Cherilus out of Boston to be the LT, but it hasn't worked out well for them and the current LT, Jeff Backus, is overmatched. Matthew Stafford ended the season on the IR with shoulder and knee problems.
In the second round, I'd be looking for a running back. QB's best friend is a good running game. |

How the hell would Clay Mathews go ahead of Brian Cushing? Makes no sense. Also I'd say no to Beanie Wells, give me B.J. Raji.

Re: 2009 gbn draft redux
If I were Detroit I would go with Matthew Stafford because Daunte Cullpeper can't get it done and he is past his prime IMO. I would draft Stafford #1 and then Michael Oher at #20.
In the second round instead of Louis Delmas, I would have gone with James Laurenitis to complete there linebacking corps and put Larry Foote as OLB along with Julian Peterson. |

Re: 2009 gbn draft redux
What I get out of this is someone else thought Texans needed a power back. ALso, the wait and get a back in later rounds did not happen. So let's do the same thing again this draft...
