Christmas in July!!!
 

Twas the month of our Christmas along the Gulf coast,
Not a creature was stirring 'cause it's too hot for most,
The stockings were hung by the A/C vent with care,
In hopes that St. FedEx man soon would be there,

Texans fans were nestled all snug in their recliners,
With visions of a Super Bowl, nothing could be finer,
I don't have a 'kerchief but I have a cap on,
As I settle to watch baseball 'cause it's the only thing goin',

When out in the driveway there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the Lazy-Boy to see what was the matter,
Away to the window as fast as I could,
Stupmed my toe on an end table, I stumped it real good,

The sun was still bright, the humidity high,
Gave assurance of what grass I had left would soon die,
When what to my wondering eyes do I see,
But a big white step van, as big as could be,

With a little old driver who was wearing his specs,
I knew in a moment it must be FedEx,
More rapid than eagles he hopped out of the truck,
To the packages in back, oh what luck,

He spoke not a word as he locked up the back,
As he headed towards my door I almost had an anxiety attack,
And raising his hand to knock on my door,
The excitement had peaked, I almost fell to the floor,

He greeted me with a smile and ask me to sign,
I scribbled my name and the package was mine,
My tickets are here, My tickets are here, I screamed with joy,
This surely has to be my best ever toy,

The driver ran back to his truck and threw it in gear,
I almost believe I started to tear,
And I heard him exclaim as he backed out the drive,
Happy Christmas to all Texans fans, Happy Christmas in July!

OK, serious question here - why the fuss over the flag? I mean, I can understand the tailgaters wanting to fly it over their tents on Sundays, but aside from that, what is it? I still have mine folded up in a closet somewhere, and it's never even been displayed. I kind of scratched my head when I got it, shrugged, and stuck it in the closet.
