I love watching Vince play. He drives me crazy sometimes but the kid is just flat out fun to watch. He's scary he's such a good runner. That one run against Michigan was sick the way he broke tackles. In fact I bet Michigan was sick when they saw that film!

Translation:
Vick - 32 fewer pass attempts, 500 more yards, 4 more TDs, 6 fewer INTs

Vick was way more effective throwing the ball downfield than Young. Young is not the passer that Vick was and does not have Vick's speed. Throwing shorter routes more often explains Young's higher completion percentage.

I think Young is more careless with the ball than Vick was. I also think that Vick has more of a gun. That said, I think Young has some great "P" (potential). He should have his passing skills tested more next year if the Horns don't find a back to run between the tackles. I don't think Selvin Young is the rushing complement to Young that Benson has been.

He is a good article comparing Young to Cunningham and the college version of McNabb:

How about Vince Young vs. Eric Dickerson? That's who Young reminds me of. Except he's bigger & stronger than Eric. I would love to see Young in the I formation, I think he'd be as good as OU's Adrian Peterson. At least that good.

Vince is a likely 1st pick in the draft if Mack Brown moved him to RB next season. As a QB, he's a project. Compare Young all you want to Vick, but Vick is a better passer. And Vick is a below average NFL passer. How do you beat Michael Vick? You blitz the heck out of him and take the ball out of his hands. That's how the NFL would minimize Young's talent if he plays QB there. Vince could revolutionize the RB position. He doesn't have the talent as a passer to do that as a QB.

Not just below average, he's one of the worst.

True he is a horrible NFL throwing QB, but he wins games.

By "one of the worst", how are you measuring this? QB rating? TD/INT ratio?

Basically from watching him and comparing him to the other starting QB's. His accuracy is not very good, and I think that shows in his completion percentage.

Yeah, his accuracy compared to better NFL QBs is lacking. But I think the difference between his running ability to their's is bigger than the accuracy difference.

In other words, there might be days where Vick completes 70% of his passes. But you'll never see Tom Brady scorch a defense for a 65 yd TD run.

Young has one of the ugliest most inaccurate throws in college football. His running skill is out of this world though. I think he will make a good WR in the NFL.

Don't know. He's built like a WR though, and has the athleticism to play the position.

I've seen most of UT's games this season and I just don't think he has a NFL quality arm.

I don't know of too many 6'5, 225 lbs WRs. I agree about his arm. But he still has a couple of years to improve enough to where he can be more like Vick (have his running make up for his lack of accuracy).

I don't see him as a WR though. Size and speed is not what seperates the upper echelon of WRs from the others. Route running and catching ability are far more important.

I agree about the WR argument.

Their arent many 6'5" 225 lbs players that can run 4.4 forties at all. HE is a freakish athlete, and there is no real position he is specifically designed for....

I think he is way too tall to be RB, wont be able to run the ball between the tackles, because he has such a high center of gravity.

Since the NFL has never seen an athlete like this, much like college, who is to say that he could not be successful playing like he does in college....
