Cowboy Gear Considered Gang Attire

"If granted, the injunction would establish a 6.6-mile "safety zone" blanketing roughly half the city of Oxnard. Gang members would be barred from engaging in numerous activities within the area, from flashing gang signs to wearing Dallas Cowboys attire to staying outside after 10 p.m."

There's an error on the link Vinny.

How truly fitting that the Cowpies gear is concidered "Gang" attire. LOL

J-Man 05-26-2004 11:17 AM

This has a sort of karmic justice ring to it...

It is a sumbiotic relationship. The Gangtas buy the cowboy jerseys to help support the Cowboys, who in turn buy up the gangtas drugs. They just help keep the cash flowing for each other. :bag:

It's the new gangsta fad.

Remember back in the day when it was the Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Rockies?

Tedc 06-01-2004 06:49 AM

Why am I not surprised? :mag:

WWJD 06-01-2004 07:41 AM

Around here I notice alot of the kids wearing the Lakers gear. Before that it was I think the Chicago White Sox.

Wolf 06-01-2004 04:37 PM

yeah funny all the lakers gear now..hmmm where did the bull's gear go when they where doing all the winning ? hmmm

WWJD 06-01-2004 06:35 PM

They wear whatever they think looks good. I don't think it has much to do with liking a team really.

Like the Sox. Their logo is catchy looking. I see high school kids alot wearing their ball caps.

Isn't it the ole Crips / Bloods BS? I remember hearing several years ago that Rockies fans in Denver were getting shot at by the Bloods because the Crips had started wearing the Rockies gear, I assume for the CR on the logo since it wasn't blue.
That whole gangsta **** befuddles my redneck mind (or I'm just too old and tired to be hip (or care) anymore). :dontknowa

WWJD 06-01-2004 11:42 PM

I'm with you Pruzoo. I see these guys walking around with their pants halfway down to their ankles and I just think to myself that I AM TOO OLD FOR THIS!

I do remember seeing alot of Rockies gear back a few years ago but I haven't recently. :dontknowa

Pruzoo 06-02-2004 01:06 AM

I always figured the police started that style (it's hard to run and hold up your pants) and the light up shoes.

TheOgre 06-02-2004 07:33 AM

It would be funny to see a gang into the old Oilers gear. Nothing like baby blue...humm, "Columbia" blue, to put the fear into rival gangs.
