As was the case with the other positions, this metric review measures medium (11-19 yards), deep (20-29 yards) and bomb (30-plus yards) pass attempts on a yards per attempt basis. The qualifying mark was 150 total pass attempts. The yardage totals once again include "pass in the air" penalty attempts and yards (i.e., pass interference, defensive holding, illegal contact, etc.).

OK--don't cheat and go look it up. Do this on your impression watching the players. Highest to lowest completion % on balls thrown 21 yards or more--not yac, distance in the air.

Teams were so used to Carr and the screen offense that they were totally unprepared for the forward pass let alone a deep pass.

Sage, because he was forced to throw long passes in alot of games he was in. Then VY, because nobody would expect it. Then comes Brady, Schaub, then Manning.

So we have one of the best Vertical passers and the best Vertical defender (Freddie B) from last season.

Those two pitting against each other in practice can only mean good things.
