Good idea.

Maybe trying to control brokers? We can always hope.

I wish - not sure how the Texans hosting a version of StubHub does that, though.

More likely just a cost free/safe way of people (fans and brokers) being able to buy and sell PSL's.

Not so sure your correct at cost free, Maybe it is safe but a fee will be assesed of at least $250 which to me is a way for the Texans to capitalize on a product that they have already capitalized on. Get paid twice for the same PSL. It is just making me go HMMMMMMMM

You are correct Joe.

From the site.

"The Texans have waived their normal $50 transfer fee for all transactions using the Texans PSL Marketplace.

In The Marketplace, you will find a:

* Permanent Seat Licenses page where buyers can view and make offers on your seat licenses.
* Permanent Seat License Info page where you can read about the transfer process and other details about the Texans Permanent Seat Licenses.
* Sales Data page where you can download historical sales data for FREE.
* Seating Chart page where you can view the seating chart of Reliant Stadium.

There are No listing fees and No membership fees. Your seller fee (calculated as 5% of the sale price, minimum $250) will be deducted from the check we send you after your transaction is complete."

Re: Texans "PSL MarketPlace"

250 bucks seems like a rather hefty fee for being the go-between. If it were just 5%....OK, but to have a min. of $250? I suspect that the sellers will just add that in to the price.

Re: Texans "PSL MarketPlace"

So why on Earth wouldn't you use Stubhub?!?! (more buyers and sellers)....

I ASSumed it would be free to get people to use it. Ooops.

The Texans ain't here as a community service. They are all about the green.

There was another post (maybe by you too?) that had another site with PSLs listed. I deleted the link as the Texans PSLs were suddenly gone.

Odd.

Re: Texans "PSL MarketPlace"

It is NOT $250 - it's $250 X 2. The seller pays AND the buyer pays.

To anyone wanting to buy or sell PSL's. - Try these message boards or Craigslist first. I bought PSL's from and individual (that had placed an ad on craigslist) a few month's ago and there IS NOTHING TO IT. I brought a money order to the seller's office, we downloaded the transfer form from the Texan's website. We completed the very simple form, faxed it and called the Texans to make sure that it looked correct. I handed the money order to the seller and that was it.

Don't waste $250 X 2 -

Just my opinion.

I got my 116 D PSL's on here, 116 H PSL's on Ebay.

JUST BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR MONEY!!!!

This is just Seasonticketsrights.com, but for the Texans. You can see the name on the website. I've sold PSL's on seasonticketsrights.com before. They are pretty good but kinda slow.

Re: Texans "PSL MarketPlace"

$250 is way too steep. And that is just the minimum, if 5% is over that they charge the 5% if I am reading it right.

I bought my on craigslist and it was very smooth. After I found the add I wanted, I negotiated the price. We agreed and I called up the Texans they will verify ownership for you. Once that checked out. We faxed each other a copy of each other's driver's license. We had email of us agreeing to the price and transaction (intent to buy), home phone and address plus a copy TX DL. He filled out the transform and filed it, I called and verified again. I then sent half the money. After I received all of the official paperwork from the Texans, I sent the other half of the money.

He was in Houston, I was in RR. We never met in person and did it all over the phone, fax, internet, etc.

IMO, they should stick to charging $50 or not do it at all.

Well. if you just wanna sell your psl's for face value than craigslist is fine. Seasonticketsrights.com gives a much larger fanbase and therefore you can offer to the highest bidder. I made some money on seasonticketsrights.com. I actually doubled my money. Now if you are a buyer, you have a bigger selection on seasonticketsrights.com than craiglist. Right now they don't have anything because they renovated the whole thing.

They charge both the seller and buyer the same amount equal to 10% total:cool:

seasonticketsrights.com is a TICKET BROKER that started the site since he was selling PSLs. He had several PSLs for sale and he wanted an web site to list them. Since there isn't a web site out there that lists PSL$, he started his own. He soon began to put a more professional look on his idea and pitched the idea to the Texans. And, of course, the Texans aGREED $ince their wa$ profit $haring involved. The rumor is that you will no longer see ANY PSLs sold by the Texans ticket office to the public. Since the SELLER can be anonymous, I am told that HOUSTON TEXANS STAFF will be buying up all the available PSLS and reselling them themselves through seasonticketsrights.com .. thus the reason the HOUSTON TEXANS TICKET DEPARTMENT is STRONGLY in favor of seasonticketsrights.com

The guy that runs/owns seasonticketsrights.com buys PSLs and resells them on his own site. If someone wished to sell their PSLs at face value, they will never get listed. The guy that owns seasonticketsrights.com just buys them, and them lists them himself.

Stubhub is nothing but a front for ticket brokers. I was told that over 90% of the tickets for the texans listed on stubhub belong to brokers. stubhub markets the misleading idea 'buy and sell from season ticket holders' giving the buyer the false impress that they are not contributing to the ticket broker industry (which is what they are doing). Stubhub charges the ticket borker 15%, and charges the buyer 10%. Stubhub gets 25% for marketing. Stubhub shares a percentage of these sells with the Texans.

If you find tickets on Stubuhub that you are happy with the price or if you find PSL$ on seasonticketsrights.com that are what you wish to pay, that is great. But, realize that seasonticketsrights.com is doing something that you can do for yourself. And Stubhub is just helping sell ticket broker's tickets. In both cases, you are giving the Texans AND brokers a cut of everything.

Nice insight. And guess what...when we start having a few playoff bound seasons I can then see the whole stadium requiring PSLs too. :gun:

Dude - Your conspiracy theory is crazy!

You claim that the owner started the website to sell his own PSLs?!
Not so my friend!- read the article written about the company in the Sports Business Journal.

You make it sound like the Texans were the first team to partner with seasonticketrights.com after the owner, as you put it, “put a more professional look on his idea and pitched the idea to the Texans.” False - seasonticketrights.com has the following partnerships in addition to the Texans: Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas Speedway. The company has also been mentioned in many publications- see their Press Box.

You claim that the seller in every transaction is anonymous.
False again- the buyer and seller contact information is given to both parties during the transfer. Read their Buyer Process.

You claim that the Houston Texans Ticket Office will be buying all the PSLs and then reselling them?!?!? Not true!- once again the buyer and seller contact information is given to both parties during the transfer, so this would be pretty obvious if this was the case.

You claim that the owner buys all the PSLs and resells them?!?!? HaHa! FALSE- again, the buyer and seller contact information is given to both parties during the transfer. Also, if the owner buys all the PSLs, then he must have some crazy bankroll because they did over $6 Million in PSL transactions last year, which they state in their Press Box!

You claim that if someone wished to sell their PSLs at face value, they will never get listed.
FALSE- there are already PSLs listed for face value on the marketplace.

I used seasonticketrights.com before they partnered with the Texans and there was none of this alleged craziness that you speak of! Sorry to debunk your theory…the site is legit.

Re: Texans "PSL MarketPlace"

I searched craigslist and stubhub and ended up buying my psl's on PSL Marketplace. Yes, I paid $250 for the service but I know I didn't get scammed (which almost happened on craigslist). Actually I negotiated the price and paid less than face value for Section 539. I'm happy and I assume the seller is too.
