Thanks to everyone that came out to support No Limit Tailgaters at the tailgater of the year competition.Maybe we didn't win, but we sure had the most popping tailgate!! We represented the yellow lot in full force and showed them how we do it in the yellow lot! We will be back bigger and better in 08!Peace!:texflag:

It was not the Raging Bull, It was some team that had ties with HEB and the judges, proving that it is a fixed compitition.

I was at Speedy's tailgate ("That's Bull!") when the HEB people came by to judge their tailgate (they were one of three finalists that week). Speedy and Co. put on a great dog and pony show, really done first class, chanted and had a great time, but they didn't win because of some [alleged] corporate BS.

After seeing that display, I have absolutely no desire to win this award or advertise HEB at our tailgate. It is not about the 'best tailgate', but more about BEST ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEB. The "award" is very misleading, because their selection committee is quite biased towards corporate advertisers.

Feedyard Saloon won. First tailgate I ever went to at Reliant. They're in Yellow.

I met the winner and I was wrong, yes wrong. The winners were http://www.feedyardsaloon.com

And I was told that they payed for everything and had no canopies but stepped up and took the prize, Congrats to the winners, go check out the website, they are going around and taking pictures of Texan Fans with the trophy. Pretty cool website.

We didn't advertise, but we were considered. They told us we had to come up with something that had HEB on it and that it would also help if we came up with something that had KILT.

Fine, whatever, we'll play along, have a good time with it. So having nothing HEB or KILT, 'cause that's not what we're there for, and although I do shop at HEB sometimes, I didn't for this game, so we put down our beers long enough to throw this together for them:

Made out of an awesome smoked brisket and link sausage. Turned out to be a waste of some perfectly good food.

Taking nothing away from the Feedyard crew, they do have a nice setup, and they were the last entry for Tailgater of the Year (this was the Denver game) and they go on the next game to take the title, but it's not a best tailgater of the game contest (which I don't see how you could choose just one anyway), it's a who can suck up the biggest to the sponsors of the contest contest, i.e. HEB banners and signs, etc. And that's why we will never win it and don't care to.

Of course, the way we look at it is that it took the champs to beat us.
No big deal. We had an awesome time, had a big crowd, the band came by and played a few tunes, then the Texans kicked the crap out of the Broncos. It was all good.

how does it work, can you just stop by anywhere and grab a beer and a bite? do you have to be a member/ is there an applicatin or a fee? whats up i cant wait to start tailgating next year ive waited 21 years and its finally time... i just dont know how to go about it... help??

Congrats to the crew that won. Now, I'm going to rant, not about a felllow tailgater, but the people on their Segways that vote for this deal.
The Battle Red Bunch have been in the Blue Lot since the 3rd game of '02. We're not a big group, there's a core group of 6 buddies. Our main goal is to have a great , time, and entertain friends that come by with good food, cold beers and good times.
Well, this year we said lets go for this heb tailgater award. So we flagged the guys down on their Segways, fed them some awesome grub, then they said, oh we're not voting in the blue lot today!

OK, well come see us when you are we said. So a couple of games later they came by, it was the 6 of us just enjoying the hell out of ourselves and this guy from heb says, 'oh, is it just you guys?" I wanted to make the world a better place and punch him in the face.

So, basically, you gotta suck up to them, and then deal with bs like that. to hell with it.

Next year, we're going for the KROGER Tailgater of the week award!

Most importantly. I applaud and give kudos to ALL the Texans fans who set up a tailgate and cheer for our team.
