With two first round picks we are going to need a little more room. Look at how high Jax and Ten are. They are trying to build young teams as well. I kind of regret trading our 3rd and 4th round picks to Ten. Still I am satisfied with Babin. :D

I think we will be fine, Look at detriot they have just about the same cap room as us and also have 2 first round picks I think HOuston will be just fine with the rookie pool cap.

For those that don't know about it, one of the MB members puts in a huge effort to maintain an up to date cap work sheet for the Texans. Here is a Link to aj's cap work sheet.
As far as the rookie pool, some of the information on the FA signings is still not publicly available (see note at bottom of aj's work sheet) so the Texans seem to have about $7.5 mil in cap space. Plenty to work in the rookie pool. |
I have viewed aj's work over the years and more often than not, aj's cap sheet is more accurate than ESPN's John Clayton or any other national sources. ;)

AJ's work is awesome, by the way is AJ on this board yet? |

During the off-season, cap compliance is done based on the 51 highest salaries only to allow teams in tight cap situations like Indy, to bring in additional players to compete for positions. |
we should have enough to sign everyone...keep in mind we didn't have any 2nd or 3rd rounders...that a lot of signing bonus we can use on the other players...and from rounds 4-7 they get the league minimum plus whatever signing bonus casserly deems they deserve...so we should have enough
