First, I would like to congratulate last year’s winners- TexCanada, Dutchrudder, and RT22, who all ended with 12 total points.

The Texans have signed quite a few UDFAs this year- who do you think makes the roster and practice squad? Same rules as last year- Pick your top 5 guys who you think have a chance to stick. If your first player makes it, you get 10 points. If your second guy makes it, 9 points, and so on. If your guy makes the practice squad, you receive half the points, i.e if your first guy makes the practice squad you get 5 points (10/2=5), if your second guy makes it you get 4.5 (9/2=4.5) and so on. As rookie mini-camp begins May 10th, the deadline for entering this competition is 11:59 PM (CST) on May 9th.

When does the last post still count in this game? I've been to busy at work and stuff to really look into some of these guys. I was hoping to do it this weekend. From the comments I seen so far, we may have picked up at least one good RB which just makes my day. :)

OK, nevermind on the question. It'd help if I would read the opening post. LOL

I have some bias, but he has a great shot at doing well in the NFL, despite 76Texans thoughts. He has great hands, makes his living in the middle of the field. He won't be a "premier" receiver based on his speed, but if he stays healthy he could have a long productive career, quietly putting up numbers. Hope he sticks with the Texans - he could be a very productive 3rd receiver for years to come - but it's the NFL, never know how the business pans out...

A J Bouye impressed me a whole lot.
Play much faster than his speed indicates.
Solid all around CB.
Honestly, I think this guy should have been drafted.
He can play.

I think I put him ahead of all the UDFA CBs now.
This guy has a good chance to stick.
I might even like him better than Carmichael.

Lemon is just another guy why I think this class is so deep.
There are quite a few UDFA receivers who intrigued me.
28 guys were drafted, but I think you can make a case for another dozen or so.
It's impossible to project them, and I've been concentrating on receivers the last 3 years.
After all, they are young, some may flatten out, some continue to develop.
There are so many football programs out there now; more guys are playing the game than ever.
A late bloomer can fall through the crack.

Tuggle is another guy who intrigues me.
It looks like he played at a lighter weight in college, and he was darn fast under 230.
At one of the All-Star game, he weighed in over 240, I think.
He still made some play, but he wasn't as fast as I think that would make him an NFL player.

We'll see if he can get use to playing with more bulk, but this guy shouldn't be written off.

Right now I have you at 14 points; 10 for Tuggle making the 53, and 4 for Davis, who was cut by the Texans but picked up by the Patriots.

Davis is an example of how I have decided to deal with players cut by the Texans but placed on the 53 of another team- you are awarded the PS points for the player, as he was indeed cut by the Texans. But since another team thought highly enough to place him on the 53, then we can make the educated guess that he would have landed on the Texans' PS.

Looks like I got Wood and Tuggle right.

I thought Johnson would make it over Wood due to his ST's value. But Johnson's fumbling problem combined with Wood clearly being being the better RB doomed Johnson.

I kinda figured one of the FA RB's would replace Forsett on the cheap. Looks like Wood could be a keeper in the Alfred Morris kinda way.

I think you're probably on to something there. DJ was my pick and I thought he looked good a couple of times but I could see the chain around his dog house neck early. He danced too much, a Kubiak no-no and when he put the ball on the ground we all knew he was toast, not even qualifying for the dog house.

He certainly earned his "apple and roadmap". :pinned:

I wasn't a fan of Wood(NO F'KN "S"!) at the onset but it sure didn't take long for him to make me a believer! One cut and go and the man runs strong. This cat is no 'flash in the pan'. I see real staying power there. I think those who've pegged him to fill Tate's spot next season are spot on. The kid can play. Burst, vision, elusiveness when called for and run you the f'k over when that what he needs to do. Very wise choice by the FO. IMO

A couple of us had him down... I am not surprised at all. I am disappointed that I don't get points for him though. Does anyone know why he left our rookie camp?

Does anyone know why he left our rookie camp?Saw the numbers weren't in his favor, and the Ravens WRs behind Torrey pretty much sucked. Smart, quick decision on his part.

Yep, I had this guy as a sleeper. Big, Tall, Fast, good hands only thing wrong was he's been injury prone. I would've liked to have seen Brown or EZ over Martin.

Martin isn't strong enough for the NFL game. In fact most Big 10 WR's cant beat the jam at the LOS.

Thanks TK,

It's just the draftnik in me.

I'm glad to see that Starling was picked up by the Giants and put on their PS. He has the ability to help the Giants later on in the season.

Same here.
And if I had time to watch the other guys, I would have at least put a claim on Bouye.
I predicted that he had a good chance to beat out Carmichael for the job (May 17).
In a brief conversation with a visiting Ravens fan, I did agree with him that Boren should be worthy of a PS spot; something I reiterated to Seminole later.

I didn't get to watch many of the other guys until later; otherwise, I would have put another guy or two above the bottom three that I had to select before the deadline.

I didn't see Wood having a chance against Johnson based on their college careers at RB, but that was clearly not the case.
Dennis Johnson 2012: 137 for 757 avg 5.5 8 TDs
Cierre Wood 2012 114 for 742 avg 6.5 4 TDs

DJ 2011: 106 for 670 avg 6.3 3 TDs
CW 2011: 217 for 1102 avg 5.1 9 TDs

DJ 2010: 9 for 83 avg 9.2 1 TD
CW 2010 119 for 603 avg 5.1 3 TDs

You did not see Wood having a chance?

No, I didn't. Watching them in college, DJ was far superior athletically. I never saw the patience and vision Wood displayed in the preseason when he was at ND. DJ shined athletically running the ball in the SEC, he looked like the favorite to win this job to me.

I think you can hold your head high though. Your mark will be damn hard to beat in future years.
