Russell Shepard from LSU, according to his twitter account, is scheduled to workout for the Houston Texans on Saturday. Shepard is a 6-1 195 lbs. wide receiver who played three positions for the Tigers, quarterback, running back and wide receiver. His senior season he had 6 receptions for 92 yards and 20 rushing attempts for 161 yards and a touchdown.

Shepard is from Houston, Texas and attended Cypress Ridge High School where he graduated early while playing quarterback there.

At LSU he played in 49 games with 14 starts and ended his career with 733 rushing yards and 565 receiving yards on 58 catches.

Sounds like an UDFA project that might be looked at as a DB rather than receiver.

I still remember when this guy was the top quarterback recruit. Couldn't believe he never got a chance to show what he could do.

IIRC, he was the #1 overall recruit by most scouts.

Is it just me or does it seem like LSU is not a good place to go if you're a top QB prospect that wants to have a shot at the Pros? :throwball:
