The 2012 season was full of successes for the Houston Texans. While the team fell short of its publicly-stated goal of a world championship, seventh-year head coach Gary Kubiak led the Texans to a franchise- best 12-4 regular season record and their second consecutive AFC South division title and appearance in the Divisional Round of the play- offs. A franchise-record nine Texans were named to the Pro Bowl, and second-year DE J.J. Watt became the first player in franchise history to be voted Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The Texans also became the first team in Houston professional football history to win home playoff Games in consecutive seasons
