I am a little confused to be honest... in the beginning of the broadcast... they had a graphic that said...

The Texans clinch HFA with either Pats loss

--OR--

a Pats tie and a Broncos loss.

Does this mean we can clinch tonight? Looking at the numbers... I don't see how it clinches anything.

I think we clinch at least the second seed if one of those scenarios plays out.

They already knew we will win the next game. :)

The Broncos won so that one's not happening.

One more win and we get at least a bye week.

Don't we automatically get one if the Pats lose tonight?

So... will there be shirts, and hats like last season?

Nope. If the Texans lose their last two games, we could end up 3rd seed no matter what happens to New England tonight.

Yep. They do it for all 8 teams though, so nothing new really.

Yes! One more goal knocked down. HFA up next.

Thorn's right. We would lose the head to head tiebreaker if we lost out and they won out.

If they lose tonight we could clinch HFA next week with a win.

What if the Broncos, Pats, and us all end up with the same record?

What if the Broncos, Pats, and us all end up with the same record?

Well... we would likely get it depending on who we lose to but we would not be able to CLINCH HFA until the final week if that's the case.

New England is one game behind us (depending on tonight) and they own the tie breaker. We have to win out to be assured of HFA. Denver is one game behind, but we own the tie breaker.

Simply, Houston needs to beat the Vikings and Dolts once more. If they do that, it won't matter what the other teams do.

Don't we automatically get one if the Pats lose tonight?

No because if we tied them with 4 losses they would beat us H2H.

This is the simplest solution. We could still win one more game and lose the other and be guaranteed at least the 2, but if we want the 1 we should just win out, at least win next week and hope Pats and Broncos lose 1 between now and then.

Really hoping for Niners tonight as should all Texan fans

I went to Academy and bought my Division Champ shirt. I have a hard time paying $28 for a single shirt but I did it anyway. Nike is very proud of their merchandise.

GO TEXANS!

If there's a 3 way tie it will be Pats 1, Texans 2, Denver 3. Pats would get the 1 seed because they'd have a better conference record than both Houston and Denver. Then the tie-breaking procedure starts over for just Houston and Denver and the 2 seed goes to Houston based on H2H.
