View Full Version : Mario Williams Will Destroy The Texans!

Guys, I have been thinking a lot this bye week about what we can do against Mario on Sunday, and I can't think of anyone on our team that will neutralize him. I know he has a bum wrist and all, but he always performed extraordinarily through injuries while with the Texans. The stats don't lie, he had 53 sacks while with the Texans, 46.72 of which were while he was listed on injury reports. He plays through injuries so well, that I just don't think we will be able to stop him with the likes of Newton and Caldwell on the right side. He will rip through our o-line like the Mongols going through the Great Wall of China!

Did you see what he did to Matt Hasslebeck last week? He was constantly getting pressure and was only a few steps away from Hasselbeck every pass. Had Matt been holding the ball another 3-5 seconds, Mario would have knocked his lights out. Matt was just too intimidated by Mario's presence, which is why he threw the ball so quickly. He was scared of getting hit, and it almost made the Titans lose. This is why I think it would be best if we just forfeited the game and avoid any chance of Mario hurting one of our guys. He's just such a monster, he's like Gamera, The Tin Man and Aquaman all rolled up into one man!

Just look at this guy, he has his own cereal! We can't compete with that!!!

When it became apparent his wrist wasn't getting any better, Williams said he elected to have surgery after consulting with the team's training staff, and after being assured he shouldn't miss any playing time.
Though feeling a little discomfort where the doctor made two incisions, Williams called the operation a success because he's already noticed an increased range of motion in his wrist. He'll continue to wear a protective cast during games, but Williams believes the surgery will make it easier to use his hands to shed blockers.
He added that the injury was also limiting his ability to lift weights and maintain his upper body strength, something he also relies upon as a pass-rusher.
''I'm a hands-on person, and everything I do is with my hands and working out,'' he said. ''And not being able to do that, mentally, has just been frustrating.''

This. I'm pretty sure it's the inverse of when we used to have threads calling MW a punk so he would respond and have a rare dominant game.

That quote really sums up Mario Williams better than anything ever said.

I knew that wasn't milk in the cereal. Explains how he injured his wrist.

MW wont even suit up.

And THAT my friend makes him all the more dangerous. Nobody will see him coming from the bench in sweats. Matt will have to be at the top of his game to scheme around that kind of defense.

But it appears he's playing with a cast. Do I understand that correctly? Well if so then he's even more dangerous than when we thought he'd be on the bench and much more dangerous than when we thought he'd be playing to begin with. It's like he zigged AND THEN HE ZAGGED!

Yeah, Mario always had some minor injury to explain why he wasn't producing. One year it was his toe, one year it was his planter faciata (sp?), etc.... The bottom line is Mario doesn't like to play football, he likes what football brings to him. Mario's production will never be as high as his potential.

Very nicely done dutch.... however, I'm sure the key to beating the Bills pass rush is to get the ball out quickly. Their front 4 is a talented bunch, 3 first rounders?? Maybe 4, I'm not sure. All 4 may be underperformers to date, but... the talent is there.

I'm not one of them, but there is an element of Texans fans who think Schaub holds the ball too long. Not 5 seconds too long, but too long just the same.

I don't think Schaub is easily intimidated, but he has a tendency to rush sometimes, throwing off his timing. Totally independent of the pass rush, it's more of a rhythm thing.

The key is going to be their secondary. I'm assuming they are pretty bad, like I said the front four is a talented bunch. But if they are as bad as I'm thinking they have to be, maybe Andre will get back on track & KDub will back up his performance vs the Ravens.

The only thing Mario will be tearing is one of his muscles. My money is on him not having a big impact on the game.

Mario won't much. He might get a sack, but that's about it. This game will be about the only game that he can get up for.

Does Mario even have a registered sack this season?

3.5, 2 coming against Arizona and 1.5 against the Browns IIRC. Typical Mario stuff.

I doubt Mario will even be a factor. The Bills are giving up 6 yards per rush, worst in the league. I anticipate a career day for Foster.

I wonder what the fan reception to him will be? My guess is it's a big collective "meh". He didn't really help this franchise or really harm it either. He had a few good years but overall he was just kind of another guy on the team.

Hopefully Mario still has his quick first step -- then we run it right at him and watch the rushing yardage ticker spin.

This thread must be a joke......ok ok i'm laughing now.

But i am not at all worried about MW, if he played good against hasselback a few weeks ago then that means he will disappear for atleast 3-4 games. No sweat guys.

I mean besides what has he really done this season ??? I doubt he has any hate for houston especially since he left here and became the highest paid player in the NFL, should be happy we picked him first if anything.

What is really sad is the Texans let him go for cheap. People talk like he got some $100 million contract from Buffalo. Wrong! Only $96 million! The Bills locked up his awesomeness for only $96 million! He is the most underpaid player in the league!:mariopalm:

Just give Newton a couple :money: and the two or three plays a game Mario makes a difference in just toss the :money: into the air and make it rain! It will distract Mario for at least one play. In fact just toss some change around the line of scrimmage and he won't even be able to look up when the ball is snapped!!

Mario states that the Texans essentially booted him out the door. I wonder if this happened after he let it be known that he wanted another huge payday from them, notwithstanding his history of injuries and questionable effort. That he leaves out.

Mario Williams still has issues with the way he left the Texans (http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/19963387/2012/10/31/mario-williams-still-has-issues-with-the-way-he-left-the-texans#ixzz2AuEgS79r)

"I didn't want to enter free agency in the first place, but it was a one-way door given to me by the GM to leave Houston, " Williams told FOX 26 Sports. "I want the fans there to know entering free agency was not my decision."

Texans general manager Rick Smith declined comment for this story.

"I'm definitely excited about coming back to the place where it all began," Williams said. "I have the opportunity to play against the team that originally drafted me.

"The way things ended, I definitely feel like it was kind of a rough and all-of-the-sudden goodbye. There's some things that I'm definitely uneasy about, the final decision making that happened there. It was just the way it was handled.

I wouldn't doubt if that were true. It is a business. Mario's demanding way too much money, and the team is already having salary cap issues. The GM believes he's expendable, so Mario gets shown the door out.

We had a top defense without him and dude wanted jack beyond what the Texans were willing to pay him (and beyond what he's worth, tbh).

Like Cretor said, it's just business. Mario is coming off as butthurt when in reality he struck gold. Get over it.

Did he seriously say that?
SO he has a wrist injury that no one knows about
He gets a surgery that he can't remember
There is no recovery time
And now he's back and better than ever?

Right...

Let me pull a GP here...

Mario's Agent: Hey, hey! Great season making the playoffs for the first time and all but you know what would put you over the top? My boy Mario.

Rick Smith: Hey, we'd love to have Mario. He was looking great until he got injured... again.

Mario's Agent: Yeah, yeah. Freak injury. He's already working hard (on Madden) to come back more explosive than ever. So... how much are you going to offer?

Rick Smith: Well. You know. We're kinda hard up against the cap. We're going to have to let some guys walk.

Mario's Agent: Yeah, yeah. But you've got some dead weight on that roster. You could cut Eric Winston and Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub and Arian Foster and you'll have plenty of space for my boy, Mario. They're all slackers who really don't contribute much at all.

Rick Smith: You know we had a great defense without Mario.

Mario's Agent: Yeah but you won a playoff game without Schaub.

Rick Smith: Or Mario.

Mario's Agent: So we're thinking about $200,000,000. That's not a hard number. Just a starting point for the negotiations.

Rick Smith: Click... buzzzzzzz....

Mario's Agent: Mario! They're not even making you an offer! They're just letting you walk!

Mario is saying that now because he's feeling the heat in Buffalo because of that massive contract. In Houston, he had it made: not much was expected of him, and, he got a paycheck.

Had he really been burning to stay, he would have told his agent to cut a massive deal with Rick Smith. Instead, he went for the money (which I respect him for), and now he has to live with his decision.

What's worse is that he's ruining his reputation in Houston.
