View Full Version : Anyone else want revenge?

I sure as hell do this week. Anyone remember that shallacking we took a few years ago from the Jets where they blitzed us all game long and made us look terrible?? I think it was Rex Ryan's first season there if I'm not mistaken. I'd love to see this Texans defense crush them the same way they did to our offense a few seasons ago. I haven't forgotten that ugly game where we got embarrassed. I think it was the first game of the season as well. I want to see the Texans beat the hell out of the Jets. Who is with me? Who wants revenge?

I remember going into the season thinking "This will be a great year" and the Jets pounded us
I hate the jets and I hope we beat the crap out of them

I do think they will be focused, they had a horrible game against the 9ers

so I hope we put another "L" in their column and let the media continue to debate on the QB situation ...

That was 2009, the year both the Jets and the Texans finished 9-7, and the Jets went to the playoffs based on tiebreakers. The Colts, of course, contributed to that, losing to the Jets in the last week when they pulled the starters at halftime since they didn't have anything to play for.

It was the first game of the season, and you just knew it was going to be a long day when Thomas Jones ran for an 80 yd TD on the first play, IIRC.

I'm just glad that since then it seems our teams have gone in different directions.

Thanks for saving me the keystrokes. :)

I'll add this...Sweet Toes Ryan didn't let up. He took it to the final whistle. The Texans now have the talent to return in kind. Kubiak won't do that out of spite, but if his game plan is delivering that, then that's what they'll get. See 41-7 beatdown last year in Possum Holler.

I can't wait to see how it happens. I'm hoping Matt will involve that #1 draft pick corner. Got to give him a chance to show the nation why he should have been a #1. :)

The last game we played against them I remember sitting at the outside bar at L'Auberge du Lac on my bday weekend dressed in my Texans gear and watching the Texans make an incredible comeback to take the lead with a few minutes left in the game. I also remember the guy sitting next to me asking me why I looked so stressed out, the Texans have won this game. All I did was turn to him and looked him dead in the eye and said, "Wait for it."

And sure enough Sanchez shoved the ball down out throat and threw a touchdown pass with seconds left.

Fred
10-01-2012, 09:51 PM
Of course I want to stomp 'em and get revenge. But in a way we already got revenge on them. The game in 2009 was the first game of Sanchez's rookie season. Him getting a big win on the road in his first game as a rookie gave a huge boost to the "Legend of the Sanchez". The Texans lost one game, the Jets have been paying for it ever since.

I want to see the Jets get stomped by the Texans to 1) see our team go 5-0, and 2) see the national media frenzy when one of their darling teams flops around like a fish out of water. Some teams get the media frothing at the mouth regardless of record, and the Jets are one of those goofy teams that always get publicity even when they suck.

I hate the Jets. I don't know why, I just hate them.

Rex Ryan is a doofus. He believed his own press and now I think he's completely lost this team.

Sanchez is Carr 2.0.

Tebow is a media circus/distraction of their own making.

They're the worst 2-2 team in the league, and have no business being 2-2. I hope we crush them. Crush their dreams. Make them rethink their decision to be in the game of football. And make Sanchez cry.

Add me to this category.
If the Jets had beaten the Niners the east coast weinies would be singing Ryan's praises for turning the team around. Then for us to come in, on MNF, and hand them a loss at home would be especially gratifying.

But since Harbaugh's boys ran all over them, a Texans' victory will kinda be poo-poo-ed... I can hear ESPN now...

"eh... Harbaugh gave the Texans the 'blueprint' for beating the Jets last week; nothing interesting here. No divas or troublemakers on their team...

But what about Schaub and that missing piece of ear?

I don't want "interesting". I want us to pound them into the ground and be up by 21 by the end of the first half. I'm not really sure how you come up with this post? Are you talking about me as the OP when you say the poster? I have definitely criticized this coaching staff in the past, so I'm guessing you are. This thread was designed to get people amped up about beating the Jets into a pulp as a pay back for what happened many seasons ago when the Jets had this mean dominant defense like the Texans currently have now. I'd love to see the Jets get embarrassed. I think we owe it to them.

I have no idea what this "bait" is that you are referring to or what your angle is with this post?

Cool, I wasn't sure. That's why I asked. I understand what he is saying and all, but I don't want a close game at all where the Jets could make some come back. I like Rex Ryan and all, but he gets the scrutiny and the pounding that he deserves with his "Rah rah" attitude.

I just really want to see a pounding on that team while they're down. We also still owe a bad beat down on the Steelers from that game 1 from a few seasons ago where we got embarrassed. I haven't forgotten about that one either.

Last season doesn't count? I know it was 17-10 but we dominated that entire match.

No it doesn't. We owe them a huge beat down like they gave us. I want to see us run them out of the stadium like what happened to us. Those are two losses that really stuck out in my mind.

I'm with Gary on this one. I just wanna go to bed Monday night knowing we are 5-0, and that all our players came home not injured! That's all!!

Indeed! 5-0 is the best revenge.
