To become functional in a dysfunctional environment is a noble task indeed. I have a friend who is a family member, great guy always spoke of just how clean & well mannered Earl was despite his surroundings along with pressure of family requests. Humble, soft spoken & representative of work ethic Texans are becoming famous for.
