No one is staying as late after practices and getting as much extra work as Texans rookie WR Devier Posey. He's also doing a little writing for houstontexans.com (http://www.houstontexans.com) in the form of a rookie diary. Here are his first two installments:

DeVier Posey Rookie Diary: Life in NFL training camp 7/31/12 (http://www.houstontexans.com/news/article-2/DeVier-Posey-Rookie-Diary-Life-in-NFL-training-camp/38f24472-7a2f-4694-8ca3-4083907d7f87)

Through three days of training camp, I can already see that it’s going to be a grind. It’s been almost four months since I’ve been drafted, and in those four months, it’s been all work. It’s definitely a lot different than college. This is your job, and you need take it a lot more serious. I’m enjoying that part, though, and enjoying playing football for a living. It’s fun, and it’s always been something I’ve looked forward to.

For me, it’s big just to be able to go into training camp and know that I’m going to be playing in the first game...

It’s the third week of camp, and we’re getting into game preparation. That’s fun, just to get ready to go up against somebody besides our defense. I feel the season getting closer and closer. In preseason, I just want to make sure all my assignments are right and continue to get better every single week and every single day and just become a pro.

My first time traveling as a pro last week was fun. Traveling with teams is the same just about everywhere. The police escort to the airplane...

Has anyone who did the rookie diary thing lasted more than a couple of seasons with the team...?? Didn't Darius Walker do one also?? He didn't last long either.

This is our version of the Madden curse.

I don't think walker did that. I could be wrong, but he had more if s correspondence piece called Wednesdays with walker.

I believe Casey did the rookie diary though.

Where was this guy in the 49ers game? It was like playing 'Where's Waldo?'

Think he'll get put on the practice/developmental team, or worse get cut?

Ready to make plays - 8/29 (http://www.houstontexans.com/news/article-2/devier-posey-rookie-diary-ready-to-make-plays/46199b2d-318b-4849-a0f7-d724bcfb0adb)
I’m supposed to be playing a lot in our last preseason game on Thursday, so I just want to finally get out there and catch some passes, get a nice little rhythm going. I’m just looking forward to playing. I’m excited. I’m really excited.

For me, I look at it as a chance to show the coaches that you know what you’re doing and show the veterans that you know what you’re doing. Anytime you get an opportunity, you’ve got to just take advantage of it.

I‘m so ready to get my first catch, man. I’m beyond ready. I want one so bad. I have faith in the process of just learning and things happening for a reason. The way I feel now and the way I prepare – maybe it being partly because I don’t have a catch – I want to just keep working and keep working and keep working and keep working. There’s no secret to it: The more work you put in, the better you’ll be. I know that I’ve got a lot of good potential, but potential is just something that you aren’t yet, so I want to be able to be that at some point this year or whenever.

I’m feeling fine now after I strained a muscle in my leg last week...
...
I appreciate all the fan support. Just keep on supporting us and supporting me, and we’ll get it done for you, and I’ll make sure I do my part, too.

Great to see him making plays. Although did not like his fumble, reception after hard run for TD was great. Hope to see him more in the regular season.

Go Posey!!!

Go Texans!!!
