Former Army E-4 specialist Troy Miller Jr, a general service technician at Kingwood Service Center, loves the Texans.

So much so that he has literally made the team a part of his life as much as he possibly can.

Miller was badly injured in Iraq in 2005. He lost his right eye and the use of two fingers on his right hand.

While recovering at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Miller was asked if he wanted anything special painted on his prosthetic eye and he did not hesitate.

Miller asked for the Texans logo.

Badass. I actually am having my new hearing aids "wrapped" Texans style. The aids themselves will be wrapped Steel blue with Texans logo. Earmolds will be red. Expression via your disability hopefully sends a good message. I'm hoping I can get people to talk about football instead of asking me about the same old mundane thing... music, etc. I will most definitely remember this thread with photos when they come in. It will be 3-4 more weeks.

I love this story.

That is awesome. I vote that this guy gets season tickets for life from the team. He deserves it.

Great suggestion. He's paid for them and then some. :bravo:

I don't know about tickets for life, but I bet McNair will get some tickets to him.

Yup. If McNair gave away season tickets to every veteran wounded from Texas he wouldn't have any to sell. I mean that in a good way. Texas is way over represented in the military. Texas is as far as I have seen always in the top five for % of service and the most populous in the top five.

Yeah but we certainly wouldn't be talking about giving them away to every single veteran. This is just an entirely different case. I mean the guy is about as avid of a fan as there is, plus he gave HIS EYE for our country. And now he has given that eye to the Texans. Not your average case.

Besides, hasn't the team given away season tickets before? I thought one of the posters on here won some? Was that just the PSLs he won and then he has to pay for each season?

But yes I agree with you. There is no place like Texas, and I love the fact that we are so over represented in the military. A state we can be proud of (except for that place up I45)...

What a great story! And I have no doubt that Mr. McNair will set him up. It's the least that can be done for someone that has paid dearly while serving this country. I hope they report the follow up during the season. Dude will be stoked!
