Per Rotoworld (http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4174/amobi-okoye):

Buccaneers signed DT Amobi Okoye to a one-year, $2 million contract.

A former first-round pick, Okoye has started 59 games over five seasons, and will likely be part of a three-man rotation with 2011 starters Gerald McCoy and Brian Price. Still only 24, Okoye is capable of providing an interior pass rush. He registered four sacks in 16 appearances with the Bears last season.

Not sarcasm if you're talking about the Bucs FO.

Man is averaging 12 starts per season and he is only 24 which has to be his epitaph.

The beauty of the Okoye pick is that since we drafted him at what? 12 years of age? He'll be bouncing around the league for another 15-20 years? We'll be getting to watch him sign with new teams every year or two.

Should be a lot of fun. He's the first round bust that will haunt is the longest.

We could have had Revis or Willis with that 10th pick. :gun:

And subsequently let them go because of cap issues :)

Revis is more hype than talent.

Revis is more hype than talent.

Is that somehow better than no hype no talent?

One thing for sure, he's the Peyton Manning of defenses: refs treat him like their own child.

I was reading the Bucs board, and they are pumped. I saw "he's still young, and with the right coaching he could be a steal in FA" many times....if they only knew. :wadepalm:

At 24 yrs of age, it could still "click" for him as he'd just be out of college if he were any regular drafted player. But b/c he was 18-19 when we got him & the book is already out on him, i think it's unlikely that it will. I mean if he couldn't make noise with guys like Mario & Peppers next to him...

Christian Okoye was the Nigerian Nightmare.

Amobi Okoye is the Nigerian Wet Dream.

He leaves you feeling a little disgusted with yourself when you wake up in the morning and realize what happened in the middle of the night.

Bucs fans: You will learn all too well.
