Chiefs fire head coach Todd Haley

The Kansas City Star

Chiefs head coach Todd Haley was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct for his comments to line judge Mark Steinkerchner on Sunday against the Jets.

The Chiefs were 19-27 under Haley, who was hired in 2009. They won the AFC West championship last year, their first division title since 2003, but this year lost five games by 27 or more points...

He made some horrible personnel decisions over the years so i'm not truly surprised. He typically gave more carries to a 33 year old Thomas Jones than Jamaal Charles.

Their AFC West Champ title last year was a sham.

Apparently he was kind of hated by most of his players as well. The guy was a world-class douche with an awesome supporting coaching staff.

I don't think that was a bad move to give Jones more carries at times. Jones is a work horse and a machine. It kept Charles fresh and basically eased him into the next season. I think it was a smart move to sacrifice Jones to the wolves and keep Charles fresh. Too bad he got hurt though.

Jones wasn't 33 last season, and regardless, that strategy was good enough for #1 rushing offense last year.
I am surprised how an offensive minded coach could only average 10 points a game this season.
