I am assuming we are mid to late 20's

1) Dwight Jones 6'4 215 WR North Carolina

With AJ going down again we can all assume that WR will be a bigger offseason need than it already was because AJ cannot seem to stay healthy and isnt getting any younger. Big, Physical WR that Gary looks for has deceptive speed. As mentioned earlier by Beerlover he played with T.J. Yates last season so he should have chemistry with him already as well as already playing in a similar offense as ours.

2)Kelechi Osemele 6'5 347 OG/OT Iowa State

At this point in the 2nd round I think we look to improve our OL by picking a player that can either start or give us solid depth. Overall Breisel has had a solid season but has struggled at times and with Wade Smith reaching 30, an upgrade could be had here with Osemele. Strong player who is playing LT at Iowa State but projects more to an OG. Also adds versitility as he has the abilty to play T in the NFL.

3.Jared Crick 6'6 285 DE/DT Nebraska

Ive seen Crick's stock falling since his injury and while I know 3-4 DE is not a need I think picking him here is a great value pick. Crick is another one of those high motor guys that have succeeded in this defense. He also does not need to rush into this defense and can fully recover from his injury. Could potentially move inside and play and play nose if Wade thinks he has the skill set.

4. Tydreke Powell 6'3 310 DT North Carolina

Big gap clogger that could become a NT for us. Powerful player that can take on double teams. Preseason all ACC player who served as a team captain last season.

5.Jerry Franklin 6'1 245 ILB Arkansas

Solid depth selection here for our LB corps. Has played OLB at Arkansas but is probably more of a ILB in the NFL.

6. Grant Garner 6'3 292 C Oklahoma State

We don't know yet what the future of Myers is as he is in a contract season. It would be ideal for Garner to come in and back up Myers until he becomes ready, but he has proven he his a good run and pass blocker.

7.As I doubt Mason meets the conditions-George Iloka 6'3 207 S Boise State

Could provide some secondary depth and a player who could make an impact on special teams. Very experienced player.

pretty damn good if I must say so.

Another Dwight Jones sighting, suddenly the Yates connection makes more sense.

Although being one of the top OT's in this draft does Osemele slide to end of 2nd, not to mention Crick late 3rd? Both are probably early to mid 2nds at best. Like the players, needs addressed however.

Wouldn't mind Texans selecting Tydreke, give me an excuse to buy another jersey...

Franklin, Franklin where have I seen that name before?

You know I thought that I would never say this about a Oklahoma OL but they stunk against OSU, Landry left the first round & is still falling, so I don't want anybody from that OL although if you said Baylor C Phillip Blake I could certainly go for that.

I like the way Boise State Safeties are coached, physical with solid technique.

It might have been a little too far for Osemele but there are other OG that might be available here that Kevin Zeitler would be great if he was available.

As for Blake I also like Blake and wouldnt mind Blake over Garner

As for Blake I also like Blake and wouldnt mind Blake over GarnerOsemele is not suited for zone blocking but is a run grader. Zeitler would be very good but should go second round top 15 or so. Same with Dwight Jones who I've mocked but prefer Kendall Wright (more of a slot who can get deep). There are other flankers available so I'm looking at Wright in first and another WR in 3rd. I also like Washington for OG/T in 4th as I don't see anyone beating out the current starters initially so get a good back up future starter later round and use 2nd for another position.

I saw no help added at the FS position.

1. Jones, I love this pick.
2. Osemele, good OG but like BB said he's a road grader type of player. I can't imagine anyone that big being fast enough to pull or get to the 2nd level quickly.
3. Crick, he's a good player but I don't like him for the Texans. He'd be DE depth only.
4. Powell, I really like this pick if he's still available.
5. Franklin, good depth pick.
6. Garner, I'm not familiar with him.
7. Iloka, good depth pick if still available.

Crick is taken as a depth and rotational 3-4 DE. I see too much talent in Crick and if he falls to the 3rd because of injury I think we should take him because we can wait until he gets fully healthy and he is great value. If Crick is selected I could see Watt and Crick holding down the DE spots for a long time after Antonio is gone

Osemele is an interesting proposition at 6'5'' 347. That's a big man right there, a yokozuna! That kind of rock in the middle would take some new kind of zone scheme where instead of him pulling the whole line would just take turns pulling AROUND him! I'm all for innovation! At that size though, he's going to be a mauling, moving wall of pads.

Maybe he could switch to nose?
