TEXANS VS. BROWNS
Salute to the Military presented by Bud Light
Reliant Stadium
Sunday, November 6, 2011
Noon Kickoff

The Houston Texans and Bud Light are proud to salute the men and women of the United States Armed Forces this Sunday. Vehicles and representatives from the Army, Navy, Marines, USO, and the Air Force will be in Coca Cola Zero/Kroger Fan Zone prior to the game. Also, be sure to check out Budweiser Plaza and the Verizon activation booth in Section 133 to place FREE International Phone Calls courtesy of Verizon to military bases oversees.

Don't forget to set your clocks back to adjust for daylight savings. You don't want to miss the pregame entertainment that will include the Golden Knights parachute team (weather permitting), "Challenger" the Free Flying Bald Eagle, flying around the stadium and the American Flag held by Military Veterans.

Be sure to stick around during halftime to see the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon along with representatives of all 5 military branches rappeling from the roof with TORO.

Warning to those on the sunny side of the stadium. The Texans push the roof policy on the military salute day. Too bad they can't do the pregame activities, then shut the roof for the game.

And I hope I do a better job of setting my clock back this year than I did last year. :kubepalm:

On a related note:

Defensive end Antonio Smith signs autographs and was invited to attend the Marines Ball by a female member of the Marines. He agreed. (Anna-Megan Raley / For the Chronicle)

Wouldn't that be great, to walk in with Antonio Smith as your escort to the ball. Good for him.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but the daylight savings thing, is that the game starting an hour earlier or later than normal.

That means 5am or 7am over here.

I have blonde moments (and I am not even blonde) over this all the time.

We set the clocks back an hour. So what was noon becomes 11 am.

You have to do the rest of the math from there.

Just put your clock back an hour and wait for 12 noon as usual. Texas time that is!

Here is the video of the Silent Drill Corp, they are always a highlight for me!

Also shows the respective armed forces lowering from the rafters after the show. Pretty good stuff.

That was awsome.

As was the halftime show.

Only thing is I couldn't talk my wife into going to the game because she thought the roof was going to be open. I had a great time without her. But it would've been better with her.

video of the eagle

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/video?id=8422272

Two birds (pigeons I guess, not sure) saw the eagle and tried to get the hell out of dodge but with roof closed there was nowhere to go.
