Good first quarter. (was about to type "first half" being 17 pts) Just need to keep the foot on the throat, Texans. Matt had some opening jitters, but at least the Texans didn't come out slow. I think they're all a little jacked today.

Ooh look - a fiat commercial. Haven't seen that since the last commercial break.

Drive-killing penalty by the Colts o-lineman. 15 yarder. Ouch.

Look how small the Fiat car is on this commercial. The dude has to squat to get out of it, Why did they show a guy getting out of it? Mistake 1. Mistake 2 was showing both the people getting out of it at the drive-in...it's a drive-in, so it's so small you want to get out of the thing instead of sitting in it???

Sometimes I wonder how people make money developing poor commercials.

We didn't have a WADE PHILLIPS defense before.

That is the major difference. It's impacting our offense, too. Our offense, IMO, was tight all last year because they know they couldn't have any mistakes in order to win the game for us (due to our bad defense).

Look now. They're acting like they're playing against CHILDREN out there.

Watching the game with a Colts fan that has enjoyed being extremely obnoxious and in our faces during previous match ups. I actually told her to GTFO of our house on one occasion because of her behavior.

I am nit behaving that way today. Trying to set a good example but it's SO HARD not to pay it forward.

Does she have that queasy look on her face, like she has to fart but she's holding it in and trying to act like things are OK? I hope so.

I suspect this game is not a good barometer from any standpoint. Colts offense is offensive without Peyton. Colts defense sucks when they aren't playing with the lead so that Freeney and Mathis play the pass and can tee off.

From the Colts Board:

I expected to be throwing my remote thru the screen this game, but I find myself laughing.

This is te worst coaching staff in football. Team has NO discipline. On bootleg, play action and special teams, not a single player has played their lane or gap. They ALL go to where the ball is. That's not just manning. I just hope this fat **** is fired, you can't get a pass for this level of ineptitude.

And how can these idiots call three straight passes with this horrid O, giving texans plenty of time to score again. I know they only needed a few seconds of it, but why give them that much time anyway?

Then, alas, with 54 seconds left, we admit defeat. I don't mind running the clock out there, but it's surreal that just a few months ago, 54 seconds an the ball was somethingto be excited about, not dread.

This is going to be a long, awful season.

Maybe, but here is the thing. Every year there are QBs who are supposedly the real thing coming out in the draft. Peyton is one of the best of all time. He is up there with Montana, Elway, Marino, etc. The probability that Luck is another Manning is remote. Its is not usual to go from Montana to Young.
